Angie Nixon defeated Alex Vindman in the Democratic Senate Primary in Florida despite being outspent 16-to-1. She didn’t even have enough money to buy a TV ad. A candidate like this should have been utterly annihilated, especially in a state like Florida. However, she won by nearly 12 points.

What was the secret magic that allowed her to beguile Floridians?

According to Nixon, it’s simply listening to the people’s needs and promising to fight for them. She’s unapologetic about her agenda even as the establishment claims it is too radical, extreme, and unelectable. She knocked on doors, engaged in grassroots activism and organizing, and refused to support ICE, AIPAC, and corporate PAC money.
