of will be with us to discuss his piece *The Surveillance Started Before the Killings. *He traces how DHS is infiltrating groups and looking for ways to frame pro-democracy activities as crimes MONTHS BEFORE it is obvious they’re looking. If you’re involved in any kind of community network, this is a must-attend.

Last week, I connected the dots from the killing of a World Central Kitchen team in Gaza to how NSPM-7 could be used to target and kill Americans for dissent. That newsletter is linked below in case you missed it.
In that piece, we traced the origins of NSPM-7 to Project Esther, a Heritage Foundation policy paper that sought to define all pro-Gaza protests as “antisemitic” and “domestic terror.” I wrote about Project Esther extensively when it debuted in Spring 2025. On 28 May 2025, we did a thought experiment as to how Project Esther could label ANY group “domestic terrorists.”
But I believe this regime would go much further. A different story that is mere hours old shows the way.
NAZA is a documentary film that charts how Israeli intelligence use AI to target civilians in Gaza. It was produced by The Guardian and won a special award at this year’s Venice Film Festival.
The Israeli directors didn’t have long to celebrate.
Israel’s culture minister has called for the Oscar-winning Israeli directors of
[NAZA], a documentary about the country’s mass killing of civilians in Gaza, to be, accusing them of “treason against the state”.stripped of their citizenshipThe former defence minister Avigdor Lieberman called Abraham and Szor “haters of Israel”, while the former prime minister Naftali Bennett described it as “a horrific blood libel against our sons and daughters”.
The revocation of nationality is legally possible in Israel, although it is rarely applied. In 2022 the supreme court confirmed that the state may strip people of their nationality if they have failed to show “loyalty”, for example by committing acts of espionage or treason.
The law was also expanded in 2023 to apply to people convicted of “terrorism”.(SOURCE:
[The Guardian])
In 2025, undear leader threatened to revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s US citizenship. (SOURCE: PBS Newshour) According to the article, undear leader “is threatening to strip people of their U.S. citizenship, including political foes, as his administration works to deport people from the country in mass numbers.”
But Andra, you say, the Roberts Court upheld birthright citizenship in Trump v Barbara (June 2026). And extensive settled case law says the government cannot arbitrarily revoke a natural-born citizenship.
Again, autocrats use words and themes to normalize their intended outcomes.
They talk about revoking the citizenship of natural-born citizens.
They receive push-back.
They redirect and threaten the naturalized citizenship of political opponents. (Mamdani, Omar, and others)
They receive push-back.
They redirect and practice on lower-profile targets to perfect their methods. In 2026, the regime has filed lawsuits to denaturalize 105 naturalized US citizens through July, when the US government only denaturalized 125 people in the previous two decades. (SOURCE) They will ultimately take what they learn from these cases and apply those tactics to political opponents.
Concurrently, they propose laws that impact citizenship for both natural-born and naturalized US citizens. The Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025, proposed by loyalist/extremist Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH), would make it impossible for both US natural and naturalized citizens to hold dual citizenship. It may be stalled in committee, but the proposal is an attempt to normalize this discussion and move the conversation toward their intended outcome: The ability to strip someone of her citizenship.
They also aggressively change the meaning of words. The United States currently allows any citizen, whether natural-born or naturalized, to be stripped of citizenship for “acts of treason.” But let’s read the language of the statute.
Section 349 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, codified at 8 U.S.C. Section 1481, says this:
(a) A person who is a national of the United States whether by birth or naturalization, shall lose his nationality by voluntarily performing any of the following acts with the intention of relinquishing United States nationality-
(7) committing any act of treason against, or, orattempting by force to overthrow, the United States, violating or conspiring to violate any of the provisions of section 2383 of title 18, United States Code, or willfully performing any act in violation of section 2385 of title 18, United States Code, or violating section 2384 of said title bybearing arms against, or to levy war against them, if and when he is convicted thereof by a court martial or by a court of competent jurisdiction. (engaging in a conspiracy to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States[SOURCE])
Now let’s review the points that makes someone a domestic terrorist in NSPM-7. Any individual or group who expresses the following:
Anti-Americanism
Anti-capitalism
Anti-Christianity
Support for the overthrow of the United States governmentExtremism on migration, race, or gender
Hostility toward those who hold traditional American views on the family, religion, and morality
The ability to revoke anyone’s citizenship is purpose-built into NSPM-7. The present attacks on citizenship are intended to normalize this behavior and pave the way to this outcome.
With the directors of NAZA, we see the intended outcome of this language. Making a film a regime doesn’t like is an *act of treason. *They are terrorists who should be stripped of their citizenship.
I don’t believe enough Americans understand that NSPM-7 revokes the First Amendment. Please share this work to help more Americans grasp that it isn’t hysteria or hyperbole to say the First Amendment is on the midterm ballot.
