Last week, we covered how Project 2025 aimed to consolidate control of information in the hands of billionaire overlords and destroy the First Amendment, especially the free press.
I encourage everyone to read this article, because this specific kind of propaganda will become more and more frequent as the US continues down the path of WCN/billionaire overlord driven fascism. For a gift link, GO HERE.
Many Americans won’t get past the title and subtitle of this propaganda piece. It may be all they remember. The authors (and The Atlantic’s editors) made sure to select the idea - or the vibe/impression/opinion/kernel of indoctrination - they wanted to implant: Christians who go to church have better sex.
This “study” (and it’s extremely generous to call it that) was conducted by the Institute for Family Studies (IFS), a White Christian Nationalist think tank.
I’m not making an ad hominem attack or using WCN as a slur. According to Influence Watch (itself a right-leaning counter to Source Watch), IFS focuses on the following:
Institute for Family Studies briefs draw attention to issues such as marriage rates and sexual practices, and analyze differences between single-parent, cohabiting, and two-parent households.
These briefs emphasize the positive benefits of heterosexual marriage and premarital abstinence.SOURCE:

IFS has received funding from WCN foundations and organizations. Again, the donor information source is Influence Watch.
Here’s what IFS says about themselves on their homepage. Their Get Married and Pronatalism Initiatives are favorites of the Heritage Foundation’s Saving America by Saving the Family, which I covered extensively in this space earlier this year.
Here’s their About page language. THE FIRST COMMENTER TO POINT OUT THE CODED WCN LANGUAGE WILL WIN A GOLD STAR.
Here are examples of recent website articles with a WCN worldview:
On top of not informing Atlantic subscribers about the WCN bias of the authors, they also allowed the writers to attempt to legitimize their “study” by making another, more reputable group’s study seem like their own.
A survey or study is only as good as its design.
Anyone who’s put one together knows it’s easy to engineer a survey to produce a desired outcome or result. From the wording of questions to groups included and excluded to who gives the data that final slant, a group with an agenda can make a survey or study say anything.
For five decades, the University of Chicago has been compiling various US datasets through its General Social Survey (GSS). A non-partisan effort, this academic group provides a deep dive into its methodologies and shows how it selects samples, constructs questions, and collects data. The GSS is rigorously non-partisan but reflects the partisan nature of American life without any agenda other than gathering and presenting accurate data.
The Institute for Family Studies is no University of Chicago/General Social Survey.
Their first problem is their survey sample:
According to our new
[report], published today by the Institute for Family Studies, no group of Americans seems to be having more sex—and more satisfying sex—than married men and women who regularly attend a place of worship. () SOURCE:This group is made up mostly of Christians, but also includes Jews and Muslims. The Atlanticat gift link above.
We also don’t know if they filtered out Christians whose answers did not portray their marriages in glowing terms or whether they constructed questions that caused responses to skew to the desired result.
The article also presents graphs from GSS with data from the 2026 IFS survey, which is a slight of hand that will cause many readers to equate one survey with the other.
Here’s the GSS survey graphic presented in the article:
And the paragraph that follows conflating this graphic with their own study:
Could this just be about wives in patriarchal religious communities who feel obligated to perform for their husband, but in ways that leave them sexually unsatisfied
and deeply unhappy? Again, the data suggest otherwise. Both religious husbands and wives aged 20–54 are more likely to describe their sex life as “excellent” or “very good” than their secular peers, according to the 2026 IFS Religion and Family Survey. Forty-nine percent of churchgoing wives report being sexually satisfied, compared with just 38 percent of secular wives. The survey also finds that churchgoing spouses are more likely to be “very” or “extremely” happy in their marriage. In our report, “The Devout Difference: Religion, Marital Quality, and Sex Among Americans,” written with the family scholars Richard Dell’Isola and Jane Lankes Smith, we conclude that the “cultural trope of the sexually prudish, frustrated religious American does not fit the data.” SOURCE:The Atlanticat gift link.
The article also contains a litany of coded White Christian Nationalist language.
A few examples:

Because this is a White Christian Nationalist group that views heterosexual marriage as the only acceptable portal for sex, they excluded survey participants who might have produced different results.
For example, IFS didn’t include the LGBTQIA+ community. No throuples. No pansexuals. No common law marriages or couples who lived together and had children but chose not to marry. No people who didn’t have an issue with casual sex or admitted to having regular sex with multiple partners.
But they also didn’t factor in a common issue many female WCN survivors will identify: The Christian women who responded may have been as honest as they knew how to be, but they are indoctrinated to say they’re happy with their sex lives even if their husbands can’t find their clitorises or never initiate sex for female pleasure. Whatever their husbands give them sexually is godly and appropriate, and these women are repeatedly told not to question it.
Sounds like that might skew a study in a certain direction, doesn’t it?
I expect this kind of White Christian Nationalist propaganda to bloom like a tumor as the regime consolidates power and WCNs and their billionaire overlords flex their control on information.
