If you missed this week’s earlier newsletters on everything White Christian Nationalists could outlaw using the Comstock Act of 1873, catch up at the links:
All Contraception, including hormonal birth control and condoms:
Everything a White Christian Nationalist defines as “pornography” (which is so much more than what most people would classify as porn):
A brief history of the Comstock Act of 1873 and its compulsive masturbator WCN author, Anthony Comstock:
Anti-abortion groups are BIG mad today. The regime is saying the leak of Attorney General Todd Blanche promising to go after anti-abortion drugs mifepristone and misoprostol after the midterms is false.
Don’t fall for this Susie Wiles-generated lie. This isn’t the first time she has worked with anti-abortion groups to manufacture fake outrage because somebody on her team leaked inconvenient information. Using the Comstock Act of 1873 to outlaw both abortion drugs is still the regime plan.
Count on an abortion pill ban after the midterms and VOTE.
The Comstock Act of 1873 prohibited the mailing of abortion-related items and any and all information about them, including:
any and all drugs, whether or not their sole purpose was for abortion
medicines, whether or not their sole use was for abortion
medical supplies, whether or not they were solely used to provide abortion
implements, whether or not they were solely used for abortion
anything else that could be adapted to administer abortion.
The regime has specifically targeted the two drugs that can be combined to induce abortion, mifepristone and misoprostol. They include misoprostol because it can cause abortion when used alone.
In addition to inducing early-term abortion, mifepristone is used the following ways:
Treating
high blood sugar caused by Cushing’s syndromein all sexes
Misoprostol’s primary use isn’t to induce abortion. It is prescribed for all sexes to reduce gastric ulcers caused by excess stomach acid due to long-term usage of inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen. It can also be used to manage miscarriages, treat postpartum hemorrhage, and induce labor.
If neither drug can be shipped, and all information about them is restricted using the Comstock Act of 1873, all of these uses would be impossible, regardless of the sex of the patient.
To imagine other medicines, medical supplies, implements, and anything else that could be prohibited using the Comstock Act of 1873, I went to the website for Human Life International: Empowering You to Build a Pro-Life World. (I don’t think I need to state the obvious, but this is an anti-abortion group.) I’m not linking to them, but I include a screenshot of the article header below.
HLI compiled a handy list of everything that can be used to administer abortion in the United States, as well as items that have been used to cause abortion throughout history.
Abortion medications
We’ve already covered these above, so let’s move on.
Dilation & Curettage (D&C) abortion
I’ve had a D&C to remove tissue after a failed minor surgical procedure that was not related to abortion or pregnancy. It can be performed to collect tissue samples to diagnose abnormal uterine bleeding and postmenopausal bleeding, as well as to detect cancers, polyps, and hyperplasia. It can also remove placental pieces after childbirth.
Tools used for D&C (tools from the HLI website; descriptions researched and added by me):
A speculum (which is also used to collect tissue samples for every single solitary pap smear in the United States)
Dilators (which can be used to open the cervix in multiple medical situations besides provision of abortion; you know, like to do a pap smear)
Suction catheter (primarily used to clear airways and in tracheostomies to aid breathing for all sexes; can also be used to clear blood and mucous from other areas of the body in all sexes)
Suction machine (see suction catheter above)
Curette (a long-handled curved blade that is used in numerous medical and dental procedures for all sexes)
Manual Vacuum Aspiration abortion
This uses a simple syringe to evacuate an early-stage pregnancy. (There are also specialized syringes for this purpose.)
Syringes are also used to administer all kinds of medications for all sexes; in blood transfusions for all sexes; every blood draw from a vein in all sexes; wound irrigation; multiple laboratory and research uses; as well as numerous tasks in cooking, art, and pet care.
Dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion
A D&E is primarily used for second trimester abortion.
Tools used for D&E (tools from the HLI website; descriptions researched and added by me):
Laminaria (a seaweed also used in D&Cs, IUD insertion, labor induction, and beyond medical settings, in food preparations, wastewater treatments, cosmetic/beauty products, and iodine production)
Weighted speculum (Similar to D&C above, only weighted)
Dilator (See D&C above)
Suction catheter (See D&C above)
Sopher clamp (also known as forceps; used to grasp, hold, or clamp tissues, vessels, or materials during numerous medical/surgical procedures for all sexes)
Curette (See D&C above)
Other drugs and medicines that can be used to induce abortion (though not recommended)
This list isn’t from the HLI website. I researched and compiled it.
Methotrexate (normally used to treat various cancers and autoimmune conditions in all sexes)
Prostaglandins (normally used to contract the uterus and treat partial miscarriages)
Oxytocin (primarily used to induce labor)
Plastic bottles and plastic tubing can also be combined with other non-medical supplies to create homemade manual vacuum aspirators. I’m not going to list all the items that could be used, because I don’t want to encourage anyone to make medical devices at home. I include them here because anything else that can be adapted and used to administer abortion means anything else, including mundane items like plastic bottles.
Some might say it could take healthcare back to the Middle Ages. It would impact drug administration, all surgery, interventions like breathing tubes and life support, dentistry, blood draws and transfusions, wound care, and so much more. It would prevent most vaccinations and render most medical research, as well as many other modern conveniences, impossible.
But Andra you say. They’re only going after abortion medication. Nobody will take things that far. You’re being hysterical. This whole newsletter is one massive overreaction. That can’t possibly happen here.
I’d love to know how many Americans said such things when Anthony Comstock masturbated over his work colleague’s erotic pamphlet and reported him to the police. I’m sure no one who witnessed that scene thought it could progress as far as a national obscenity law with the chronic masturbator appointed as a special agent of the US Postal Service.
As ludicrous as it sounds, that’s what happened. Probably because too many people thought it couldn’t happen and did nothing.
