On Monday, I wrote about how the White Christian Nationalist manifesto called Project 2025 mentioned China (negatively) almost 500 times, an average of once every other page. I link it below for readers who missed it:

Both Chinese “communist capitalism” and White Christian Nationalism use government to impose their definition of nationalism upon religion.
The Chinese require non-East-Asian religions (think Islam and both Protestant and Catholic versions of Christianity) to adopt Chinese priorities and teach state loyalty. They also police church architecture; buildings cannot display exterior crosses or crucifixes, and mosques cannot have minarets. The Chinese government even required changes to the Qu’ran in order to approve an official Chinese version.
White Christian Nationalists are using federal, state, and local governments - including taxpayer dollars - to require WCN indoctrination in every sphere. School voucher programs, many forms of welfare assistance, Ten Commandments displays, book bans, transgender bans, and more will become part of “state loyalty” in a WCN theonomy.
Numerous WCN politicians and influencers have already called for deporting US-born Muslims, prohibiting the construction of mosques, and banning Islam. WCNs also refuse to recognize certain translations of the Bible and deride compassionate Jesus Christians like James Talarico as “fake” and/or “not real Christians.” This mirrors the Chinese policy of government regulation of all religious expression.
Chinese Christians can rightfully claim to be persecuted. Christian churches must register with the Chinese government and cannot meet unless they go through a government-sanctioned approval process. Most Christian speech is banned online, and Christian religious meetings are prohibited beyond “official” venues, leading Christians to meet secretly in basements and other spaces. Some Chinese Christians have been jailed for refusing to practice Christianity the “Chinese” way.
White Christian Nationalists in government are already steering the country toward these policies, only for all groups they don’t deem “White Christian Nationalist enough.” If they continue on the current trajectory, I could see churches being required to register with the government and be approved to qualify for federal monies, meaning every group from progressive Christians to Mormons to Unitarians to pagans would not approved by WCN decision-makers. Numerous WCN influencers have called for prohibiting the construction of mosques, driving Muslims from certain areas, and seizing property and even jailing Christian leaders who display rainbow flags and other symbols with which they disagree.
Both China and White Christian Nationalists have no problem applying terms like “evil cult, “demonic,” and similar to non-approved religions.
The Chinese have gone so far as to send those who engage in non-compliant religious belief and expression to gulags, where they have endured inhumane conditions, torture, and organ harvesting. Don’t think this crop of White Christian Nationalists aren’t itching to do likewise to all who refuse to comply. This regime isn’t building the largest for-profit concentration camp network ever recorded to leave them empty.
Both groups believe in the forced indoctrination of children.
In China, children are forced to learn how to be loyal to the Chinese Communist Party. This fealty to government is so important that they forbid the teaching of religion to children under the age of 18, including Sunday School and religious youth camp attendance.
Because White Christian Nationalists are merging their form of Christianity with government, loyalty to WCN will be considered part of being a “real” American. The Heritage Foundation’s Phoenix Declaration is the roadmap for transforming all US education into forced WCN religious indoctrination from kindergarten. This is the same system the Chinese use to indoctrinate Chinese children to be loyal to the CCP.
For all the venom the WCN-authored Project 2025 directed toward China, they operate using the same nationalistic, intolerant, oppressive world view: You will bow the knee to us, or you will be punished.
