If you’re following a gluten free diet beware that gluten free does NOT mean safe for IBS.
Gluten free foods can still have plenty of other IBS diet triggers, including fats, insoluble fibers, GI irritants/stimulants such as caffeine, artificial sweeteners, alcohols, and carbonation.
(Just a note here that gluten is not a FODMAP. Gluten is a protein, FODMAPS are carbohydrates. They are not connected.)
And some gluten free products actually add IBS trigger foods to replace the missing protein from the gluten that would normally be there. So watch out for whey and pea proteins!
Always read labels and ingredients to be sure.
