Thanks to everyone who was able to join live last night and thanks to everyone for good questions re. Greenland, Ukraine and the relationship between the US and Europe during Trump.
After the live session Landry resurfaced in the streets of Nuuk and was swarmed by journalists. Nuuk is so small there’s nowhere to hide. It was quite obvious that Landry would have preferred staying put instead of journalists asking him questions about him gate crashing a conference and then escaping when the atmosphere got critical.
Landry tried to defend himself and the Trump administration with hollow statements like: “but no one cared about Greenland before Trump came to office” and “no one cares more about the Greenlanders than Donald Trump”. It’s ridiculous. It’s like a rapist claiming rape is justified as long as you do it because you care!
Fun fact I: Colin Powell went to Greenland in 2004, Hillary in 2011, Kerry in 2016 and Blinken in 2021.
Fun fact II: Former US ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Rufus Gifford was invited on stage at the Future Greenland Conference, the conference Landry left after half an hour:-)
Anyway, it will be a long day for Landry today. MAGA stooge Boassen has admitted to taking MAGA money for his subversive activities. It’s like the effing Soviets supporting communist in Europe during the Cold War. Rest assured Boassens admission won’t make Landry any friends either.
On Thursday, when the Trump administration opens the new consulate in the largest office space in Nuuk, I bet you there won’t be many Greenlanders in attendance. I guess the Consul, the Ambassador to Copenhagen (the snake Ken Howery) and Gov Landry will have that “great ballroom” pretty much to themselves.
The main event will be held immediately outside the consulate at 4.45 pm local time which is a silent demonstration where all participants stay silent for 2 minutes while turning their backs to the building. Landry and Howery can enjoy the sight while enjoying canapés and extra sour bubbles!
