Morning all. Another busy day here today. A new interview with Mary Peltola is coming later this morning, and we are hosting Charlie Bailey, the terrific Chair of the Georgia Democratic Party, for a live discussion at 230pm ET.
As we’ve been discussing as we got closer to Election Day things were likely to get worse for Trump and the Rs - and they are.
Headlines like this are not helping them:
While it’s come down a little in recent weeks gas is 60+ cents a gallon higher today than in July:
In FiftyPlusOne’s generic ballot we are now firmly over 50%, our lead is growing, and you can see in these trendlines how voters are breaking to us now:
This data is very consistent with the Gallup Party ID data we’ve been gawking at all week. Note like the generic ballot we are at 50% here too:
Yesterday the addled, white supremacist, titanic f-ck up got his worst major poll of his 2nd term, this one from Pew, one of the most respected pollsters out there. 30%!!!!! baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In a new poll by Politico only 48% of Trump 2024 voters say their local candidates should align with Trump. 48%. Just wow.
In polling these past few weeks Republicans do not have clear, definitive leads in any battleground Senate race, including in Kansas and Nebraska. Democrats, on the other hand, do have polls showing us winning everywhere in Alaska, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and now Kansas too. Here are two new snapshots from key Senate battlegrounds. First, for my talk yesterday OH Dem Chair Kathleen Clyde I pulled together recent Senate in Ohio. It’s very encouraging:
The second snapshot is a new Washington Post poll of Maine that looks a like other polls we’ve seen there in recent weeks. Susan Collins has a very high hill to climb, and she is running out of time:
Finally the most significant trend we are seeing in the early Early Vote so far is a clear spike in voting from voters of color, * an ominous development for the Rs*. Here’s today’s national data from TargetEarly:
If you haven’t gotten to my weekly comprehensive overview of the election yet it will be good weekend viewing or listening - The Battlefield Keeps Eroding For The Rs, We’re On The Cusp Of Having The Election We All Want To Have, And Now We Need To Close Strong And Finish The Job.
Let’s end our morning time together with our new 2026 Election daily mantra, borrowed from the great Anderson Clayton:
Elections are decided in November, but they’re won in October
And yes, my friends, that means it is time to go…..
Three things you can do in addition to supporting our intrepid candidates and state parties:
