Greetings all. I’m excited to share a recording from the live discussion I held earlier today with Janelle Stelson, who reported in on her spirited race to flip PA-10. Her third time joining us, Janelle’s update today is a reminder of why she is a formidable candidate in a very strong position to win this November.
I asked Janelle how it feels on the ground in PA-10 with less than four weeks to go. Here is her thoughtful response:
It feels very exciting and not that exciting at the same time. The campaign is going really well. We’re hearing from a lot of people, but they’re not happy. I like to say you never want to build success on the back of misery. And we see people who are deeply unhappy.
I’m not just talking about Democrats. I’m talking about Republicans, independents. You know, everybody’s talking about the economic crisis. It’s not something they complain about anymore. It’s something [where] they’re having to make choices. Like, what are they going to do? Afford the groceries they would normally put on the table amid the skyrocketing utility prices? Now mortgages are up to 7%, 7.5%. And certainly rent is nearly impossible these days as well. And you add the war in Iran, which Scott Perry has voted for [six] times.
She also reminded us what a tough district has been for Democrats in recent years, so peddle to the metal in these critical closing days:
Something else that I’d like to point out to everyone. Everybody says, “oh, Janelle, you’re going to do this. There’s going to be a big blue wave. People really care about what you have to say.” And I’d like to remind them the last big blue wave, which was in 2018 and saw Pennsylvania make some real gains democratically, did not happen here in PA-10. These are not all folks that are easy to reckon with. You know, in 2018, this area did not flip. It was still Scott Perry. So, you know, we have a big fight ahead of us even in the next couple of weeks.
Here’s a map of PA-10, a Cook R+3 “Toss Up” district, along with the 2024 results from when Janelle came within a point of winning in a much tougher year:

Friends, enjoy this update from Janelle Stelson, one of the very first candidates we endorsed this cycle, and let’s do what we can to help bring her to Washington next year. Please share this interview with others, hit like so more will see it, consider throwing a contribution Janelle’s way, and keep working hard all. For we have a country to save, and elections like this one in Pennsylvania to win this November, together! - Simon
You learn a lot about a place when you tell its stories for decades. For more than 30 years, Central Pennsylvanians have relied on Janelle to tell the truth, trusted her to shine a light on our problems and counted on her to get answers and hold the powerful accountable. Whether she was with small business owners, riding along with local law enforcement, or covering the rising costs of housing and healthcare, Janelle has been listening and telling the stories of countless families across the district. She has heard over and over how people in Central Pennsylvania are sick and tired of career politicians who have been ignoring them and their problems.
Janelle is fed up with career politicians in Washington. She supports term limits and promises to limit her own terms. Janelle also supports banning members of Congress from trading stocks and vows to vote against pay raises for Members of Congress.
Janelle will work with Republicans & Democrats to lower the costs of utilities, healthcare, buying a home, and invest in our small businesses and family farms. She will fight for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid and a woman’s right to choose.
Janelle is not a politician. If you are looking for someone who will listen to you, who will work for real solutions, who will fight for term limits, and who will sit down with anyone who has a good idea about how to make life better for all of us in Central Pennsylvania, then support Janelle Stelson.
How many times has Scott Perry voted in favor of the war in Iran?
