Hey friends, today’s travelstack from Croatian: we toured the Old Town which is encircled by 1.2 miles of ancient, imposing walls.
We spent much of the day with a wonderful guide, Anada (Pic 1). As she told us when we first met, “It’s pronounced like Canada, but without the C.” Niloo I have now have a friend in Croatia.
Anada’s breadth and depth of knowledge about the history of Croatia was awe inspiring. I felt like I learned a semester’s worth of Croatian history in just one day (if only I had a more robust short-term memory).
The countless cuts and alleyways in and around Old Town were indescribably picturesque, so pictures will have to suffice (pics 2, 3, 4, and 5).
Life can’t be fully lived without stopping to pet all dogs within reach (pic 6). This beautiful boy was wagging his tail wildly and pressing himself up against the fence, hoping to be petted. We all obliged.
