Lions. We have another indicator, a creation from one of our Lionesses. **It uses a weighted index **
Fear: the VIX level. Weight 2.Credit & conditions: the Chicago Fed’s National Financial Conditions Index. Weight 2.Dollar surge: how much the dollar index moved over the last three months. Weight 1.Rate shock: how much the 10-year yield moved over the last three months. Weight 1.Energy: the price of WTI crude oil. Weight 1.Curve: the 10-year yield minus the 2-year yield. Weight 1.Safe haven: the price of gold. Weight ½.
Each pillar is ranked against its own past 252 trading days, so every ingredient speaks on the same 0–100 scale no matter its units. The index is the weighted average of the seven ranks. Data from Yahoo Finance and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED), refreshed about every ten minutes.
