Friends, excited to introduce you to Aaron Ford, the Attorney General of Nevada, who is in a strong position to take back a governor’s mansion for us this November.
Here’s Attorney General Ford on fighting Trump and why the current Republican governor, Joe Lombardo, needs to go:
It’s been seven years and nine months essentially, where I’ve been able to be aligned with 23, 24 other Democratic attorneys general across the nation. We’ve been the front line — and the last line — of defense against an administration that is hellbent on undermining our rights and our ability to survive, let alone thrive.
We have here a “Lombardo-Trump economy,” that has been decimating small businesses because of the illegal tariffs that Donald Trump instituted early on. And when I tell you that Joe Lombardo has kowtowed and capitulated, he’s done exactly that even from the beginning — instead of standing up to Trump against these unlawful tariffs, he’s had the nerve to tell our residents they should maybe feel a little pain from these tariffs. I said, we don’t need pain, we need leadership. That’s why we sued. And we won. Even though we’ve now won twice now, our own governor has said that people “don’t deserve refunds” from these lawsuits. At the end of the day, to me, that is proof positive of why he no longer deserves to be in office.
But as attorneys general, we’ve been able to preserve our democracy relative to the right to vote — I have co-led several lawsuits, two most recent ones related to executive orders, and the work the U.S. Postal Service tried to do. We won in the Supreme Court. Mail-in voting is secure, and we’re so happy about that. We will continue to stand up and be a bulwark against a federal government, again, hellbent on undermining our rights.
Here’s a great introductory video from the campaign:
Everyone believes this race is a true toss up right now. While there hasn’t been a lot of polling here are the two most recent polls we have. Emerson is right-leaning:

Simon Rosenberg:
How has the crackdown from DHS manifested in your state?
AG Aaron Ford:You know, it's pretty horrible, frankly. Folks are afraid. Children have stopped going to school. I've heard anecdotes of people not calling 911 for fear of repercussions. People are just terrified. And look, at the end of the day, while folks appreciate and understand the importance of strong borders, what they don't appreciate is us having essentially a vigilante group, called ICE, with masks on, terrorizing our neighborhoods. It's something that's reflected in our efforts to reach out to all communities… I talk to folks about it. It’s an important topic for them.
Excited to introduce you to this inspiring leader who is in a very strong position to win back a governorship for us this November. Watch our discussion, share it with others, hit like so more will see it, donate to his campaign, and keep working hard all. For we have a country to save, and elections like this one in Nevada to win, together - Simon

Aaron Ford knows what it means to fight for a better life – because he’s lived it.
Born into a working-class family, Aaron watched his parents do everything they could to keep the lights on and food on the table. His dad stocked produce at Safeway. His mom picked up odd jobs. And when times got tight, they tightened their belts – like so many Nevada families still do today.
After his junior year in college, Aaron became a father. A few months later, he became a single dad. Medicaid helped him keep his son healthy. Food stamps kept them fed. And public education gave him a path forward.
He didn’t stop there. Aaron earned five degrees – including a Ph.D. in education and a law degree – while raising four boys with his wife, Berna. He became a public school math teacher. He served as Nevada’s Senate Majority Leader. And today, he serves as Nevada’s Attorney General.
Aaron moved to Nevada because he believed it was a place where anyone could make a good life. And when he saw how badly the system was failing families like his, he stepped up to serve.
In 2019, Aaron became the first Black Attorney General in Nevada history – and has since become one of the most effective AGs in the country.
Now, Aaron is running for Governor to build a Nevada where every family – no matter their zip code or background – has the chance not just to get by, but to get ahead.
Because he’s lived the struggle. He’s delivered real change. And he’ll never stop fighting for the Nevada family.
