Morning all. We are ten days out. We need to have a big weekend everyone. Pedal to the metal. Donate, canvass, phone and text bank, get those last postcards out - whatever it is you do, do it with gusto this weekend. Let’s commit to keep driving the early vote my friends for as Anderson Clayton told us a few days ago “Elections are decided in November, but they are won in October.”
There is a lot of news today. Let’s get to it…..
Desperate men do desperate things. The polling got worse for them this week. Their battlefield keeps eroding and they - the Trumpies - are spending money and campaigning in states like Kansas, Mississippi, and South Carolina, states he won by 16, 23, and 18 points just two years ago. This months’ jobs and inflation reports were terrible. His failed war that just keeps failing has caused oil prices to soar, again:
Consumer confidence has fallen to the lowest level in 65 years. It is a remarkable and full-throated vote of no-confidence in him and his band of buffoons, extremists, and quislings:
The early vote is also not going their way. Turnout is running above 2022 at this point (bad for them), Dems lead in the early vote by 15 points, 54%-39% (bad for them), and we now clearly seeing a surge of young people, blacks, and Hispanics voting early (really bad for them):
The regime itself has descended into chaos. Savage leaks are flying, internal infighting has spilled out into the streets, people - usually women - are getting fired right and left. We got brutal 𝕏new stories documenting Trump’s corruption and looting this week. A 𝕏major new Trumpian scandal in Alaska broke overnight. Trump is showing undeniable signs of cognitive decline on the campaign trail as his persistent praise of the bodies and looks of men has become a real and even for Trump just jawdropping thing:
Rejected, repudiated, losing; an historic, world-altering failure; a desperate and unwell Trump is resorting of course to rancid, impulsive, and outrageous fuckery. He has waged a deeply racist campaign against a sitting Rep. Illan Omar, who is black, a woman, and an immigrant. His DOJ just prosecuted another powerful black woman, State Senator Louise Lucas of Virginia. Trump has enthusiastically promoted Vivek’s vile attack on Dr. Amy Acton. Scared and worried he has run into the arms of his big daddy and protector, Vladdy, over in Russia. He launched a keystone cops effort to challenge the vote in California, one that was immediately debunked and discredited (though we have to keep fighting). And now, rattled and addled, the mad king ordered his henchmen at what used to be the Department of Justice to ensure that only the Republican candidate can win the Senate race in Alaska:
Just read what Trump is choosing to spend his time on in these closing days of the campaign. It’s so unhinged:
As we are, to quote our friend Jane Kleeb, prepared not scared, we are fighting all this Trumpian fuckery head on:
And that’s how I want to end today. We are prepared not scared. Pushing through all of his impulsive and desperate efforts to forestall the impending and resounding vote of no confidence in him and his regime the picture that is emerging is one of Trumpian desperation, weakness, and decline. It feels like we are nearing the end of his run. His powers have ebbed. Voters have had it. He has been too wild, corrupt, and crazy. He has done too much damage to the country. He is unfit and unwell. A reckoning is coming, and no one in our history has deserved it more than this terrible, terrible man and the cowardly enablers around him.
Which is why my friends we need to put our heads down, close strong in these final ten days, and keep working, together, to…..
