With less than three months remaining in 2026, I wanted to take a little time to update readers on where my thinking stands, what has worked this year, what hasn’t, and where I’m starting to look as we head into 2027.

As always, my goal isn’t to predict everything, it’s to identify areas where I think the risk/reward is attractive and find opportunities that the broader market may be overlooking.

And as we approach the end of this year, I think what comes next could look dramatically different from what investors have become accustomed to over the last several years.

My 2026 watchlist, shown below, has had a solid year, despite some spectacular winners and equally spectacular losers. As of this morning, the list is up approximately 19.4%, compared to a 14.1% gain for the S&P 500, outperforming by roughly 5.3 percentage points on an averaged, equal weighted basis.
