The “she” is AOC aka New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.
And the “running” refers to the fact that I am now pretty damn convinced that AOC will be a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2028.
Start here: You don’t agree to a “wide-ranging” interview with the Times about your future plans unless you already kind of, sort of know your plans.
She could have easily said “no” to the Times — which, I assume, she had done a whole bunch of times in the past as she tried to make up her mind about her political future.
But it’s not just the fact AOC gave the interview. It’s what she said in it. Particularly this quote:
There’s an argument that some make that this is a very unique political window and, oftentimes in politics, you do only get one shot. And you don’t — and just in life in general — life doesn’t wait for you to be ready for things. Sometimes life just makes things ready for you.
