Nepal is suffering from devastating flash flooding of almost Noah-like proportions. It’s believed to have been caused by part of a glacier breaking off and falling 17,000 feet into a valley floor, creating what is known as an ice avalanche. A ** terrifying video has gone viral** showing buildings in a town along the Nepal-China border being suddenly obliterated by a massive wall of mud and water.
At this writing, 330 people are known dead and 1300 are still unaccounted for. The missing include over 700 foreign tourists, including at least 63 Americans. This is a breaking story; we’ll have more details as they become available. In the meantime, please join us in praying for the victims and for the safety and success of the rescuers.
In the latest news on the military action against Iran, the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group will reportedly be deployed to the Middle East for at least seven months, although crew members are being warned that it could be longer because “the enemy gets a vote.”
Iran and Oman reportedly struck a deal to jointly manage the Strait of Hormuz. But a second commercial tanker there was struck with a projectile that caused a fire. Fortunately, it was extinguished with no injuries. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Qatar is heading to Tehran today to try to reduce tensions between Iran and the US. Good luck! We mean that sincerely, but also sarcastically.
The “Economic D-Day” sanctions campaign against Iran has a new name: “Operation Economic Outcast.” If they want to name it after something synonymous with economic devastation, how about “Operation Socialism”?
The Democrats must be terrified of the growing movement for Voter ID and other election integrity measures because this report by Natalie Winters at Substack shows that they are really ramping up the vote-buying side of their turnout operation. That includes giveaways of “free” groceries, gift cards, restaurant meals, and a chance to win a $4900 concert package.
** Check out the link for a lot more details**. As for us, we feel really old since we’re able to remember when bribing people to vote for you was actually illegal. Maybe the Dems consider that offering voters free stuff paid for by someone else isn’t bribery, it’s just a free sample of what they’ll do if elected.
An investigation found that nearly 10,000 people on Michigan’s voter rolls are dead, with nearly 4,000 having been dead for over 20 years. And you can’t get rid of the Voting Dead: Republican state Rep. Rachelle Smit says she personally removed a dead voter from her local rolls, only to see him added back and have a mail-in ballot sent to him.
As talk show host Jessie Kelly ** explained on X**, “To put it simply: Popularity is not nearly as important for their survival as cheating is. Without the cheating, the Democrat Party is a 20% party.”
Friday is Karoline Leavitt’s last day as White House press secretary, and a successor has yet to be named. With the midterms approaching and many top political media figures going on the campaign trail to cover the battle for the 2028 presidential race, there will be fewer top-tier candidates available, and it’s rumored that the job may be taken over by a rotating group of Trump Cabinet officials, including Trump himself.
If Trump conducted the White House press conferences by himself every day, they could put it on a paid streaming channel and pay off the national debt.

The most reasonable and least talked-about problem with red states pursuing data centers is that it means importing a lot of tech workers from places like California who will vote for Democrats to destroy red states. Red state Governors might want to consider that.
ICE agent Christian Castro has been released from a Texas jail ** after a judge ruled** that he could no longer be detained while Minnesota tries to get him extradited back to Minneapolis to face charges for shooting and injuring a Venezuelan national during an immigration crackdown.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has resisted sending him back to Minneapolis, where few believe that an ICE agent can get a fair trial. Texas imposes a 90-day limit on holding people for extradition, and that’s up. Minnesota sued to force Abbott to sign the extradition papers, but the judge said that approving that would mean imposing a 90-day deadline on a Governor to decide an issue, which is beyond the court’s power. Abbott has suggested that Minnesota spend more time cleaning up all its illegal immigrant taxpayer fraud instead of prosecuting ICE agents.
What’s behind this huge FBI raid in LA? Also, more declassified documents show FBI and media faked the “Russiagate” investigation
Don’t you love a good mystery story? Well, we’ve got one.
Very early Tuesday morning in downtown Los Angeles, federal agents served search warrants at two locations, a high-rise on Wilshire Boulevard and another luxury apartment complex, the Apex and Alina Apartments on West 9th Street. As of this writing late Wednesday night, court records are still sealed, so we don’t know the nature of the investigation, what they were looking for, the names of the targets, or what electronic devices might have been seized. Reportedly, at least one arrest was made.
But whatever it was about, this raid was a big deal, involving an LAPD helicopter landing on the helipad at the Apex with armed agents in tactical gear. (Just a thought: if the Apex has a helipad, it must have very, very high-end tenants.) The only bigger law enforcement operation that comes to mind is the ginned-up one that deluged Mar-a-Lago with 30 armed FBI agents arriving via land, sea and air.
The raid lasted about an hour and was coordinated with local fire department personnel, who managed the buildings’ elevators while the raid was going on.
A spokesperson for the FBI confirmed the raid as part of an ongoing investigation but had nothing more to offer.
The local ABC affiliate ** did have some information**, derived from a couple of concierges at the Apex. (Yes, this is the sort of residence that has a helicopter pad AND concierges.) According to these witnesses, the FBI agents remained in the building for about an hour. They were the ones who said the fire department was securing the elevators, though they did not know which floors had been accessed. Likewise, a witness at the Wilshire building, a front desk employee, did not know which floors or units were being targeted.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed to them that the Los Angeles Police Department assisted in the investigation. Plainclothes agents were reportedly stationed outside during the raid.
An AI summary of what is known so far says vaguely that the raid is targeting properties “linked to a corruption investigation involving local officials and international ties.” But it ** references a story at the New York Post from July 29** saying that federal investigators are targeting foreign --- as in Chinese --- influence in California.
Daniel Farr reported then that this was part of “a sweeping Southern California corruption probe.” According to him, the feds in the July raid were targeting properties tied to three local political figures and also to James Su, an executive with Chinese language media company EDI Media. Perhaps this raid on Tuesday has something to do with that, but we await further developments.
The three political figures are San Bernardino County Supervisor Curt Hagman, Ontario Councilmember Alan Wapner and attorney Frank Lizarraga.
We don’t know if these two cases are connected, as federal officials have not said whether this raid is connected to any other ongoing investigation, but according to the Post, federal agents have been searching homes “across Southern California,” including EDI Media’s offices in West Covina, the Ontario International Airport, and a Beverly Hills mansion. Something is definitely brewing.
One local online news outlet, Hoodline, ** reports that in the raid on Tuesday**, at least one person was taken into custody “on a rooftop.” Presumably, this would be at the Apex, on the rooftop where the helicopter pad was located, although the high-rise on Wilshire also has a helipad.
According to Hoodline, “Both buildings sit in dense commercial and transit corridors that see heavy foot traffic on weekday mornings...The high-visibility locations meant the raid played out in full view of commuters and building staff navigating the corridor.”
So one would think we’d be seeing more accounts. Other than the single unidentified individual taken into custody on that rooftop, officials have not said who else might have been detained, or will be.

“After more than nine years of secrecy,” writes Aaron Mate, “a new declassification by the Trump White House confirms that the investigation, codenamed ‘Oxferd Comma’ [we must interject, this misspelling is theirs, not ours] and launched on May 16, 2017, was not driven by any secret information tying Trump to Russia. It was instead based on the FBI leadership’s maximalist, neoconservative-influenced reactions to innocuous and falsely reported public events.”
As you might recall, one of the triggers for it was a story by Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin, who wrote that during the GOP Convention in 2016, Trump removed a provision from the party platform that called for arming Ukraine in its fight against Russian-backed rebels. That wasn’t really accurate (** Mate’s story has the details**), but nearly a year later, the Obama-led FBI didn’t care one bit, and they used it as a pretense for saying that “Trump’s purported ‘views’ --- whether the bureau had accurately described them or not --- were sufficient grounds to investigate him as an agent of Moscow...”
The article goes on to detail why, as we have said all along, “all roads lead back to Hillary.” As Mate writes, “...the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation was influenced by Cold War views and the conspiracy theories of an illicit Trump-Russia connection promoted by the Hillary Clinton campaign and its media allies.” It was Robby Mook, head of her campaign, who declared in July 2016 that Trump had “personally” changed the Republican platform to make it “more pro-Russian.”
Read the ** detailed article**, and you’ll remember how the “mainstream” media all jumped on board for the fictionalized Trump-Russia connection. Certain publications, such as blatant propaganda rag The Atlantic, were right out front on that, just as one would expect, and they took the ruse as far as they possibly could. As Mate writes, “...it became an article of faith not only that Trump’s presidency was the product of a conspiracy with Moscow, but that the President himself was vulnerable to financial leverage and outright blackmail.”
All made up. At the time, they made it sound so...official. But today, now that this outrageous fakery has been exposed, how can anyone with two brain cells to rub together possibly accept any popular media narrative, ever again? (That’s without even getting into the COVID lies.)
This ** article** also gets into the earlier investigation of Trump’s campaign associates, dubbed “Crossfire Hurricane,’ based on “a vague piece of gossip” about George Papadopoulos. This, of course, morphed into the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation, which, according to their own report, “did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”
Much of this will seem like old news to readers of the Huckabee Post, as we’ve been covering it since 2016, some of it from even before then. But we can’t help but feel gratified when newly declassified documents verify what we and some others have said all along. We think that this same process will soon be shedding light on mysteries that, for now, still remain unsolved.
