Before we get into the confiscation of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s cellphone, the subpoenas sent out to a dozen of her family members, and much more, ** here’s a little fun from the Babylon Bee**.
Why, just think! If a raid can be conducted on the residence of a member of Congress, someday the same thing might even happen to a President of the...well, never mind.
Omar and her husband were apparently the only ones present at the time of the raid. By the way, anyone who thinks this raid was just some partisan witch-hunt (of which we’ve seen way too many) should know that the investigation was opened under President Biden and that the search warrant was authorized by an Obama-appointed DC judge. This would not have happened without probable cause, so rest assured it came about for good reason. The judge had to think it likely that a search would turn up evidence of guilt. Omar can play the poor political victim all she wants, but in this case we know that’s just an act. (In fact, she immediately began using her martyr act as a fundraising tactic.)
Yesterday, we covered what was known about the search warrant and raid on Omar’s home Monday morning, but since then, many more news outlets have weighed in. As you know, Omar’s staff managed in 2018, after she was first elected to Congress, to change her date of birth on certain documents to conform with the naturalization process that allowed her to become an American citizen as a “minor child” of age “17” when her father supposedly was naturalized.
Now there are questions even about whether her father WAS naturalized. So far, the documentation hasn’t been produced. And if he was never naturalized, that means she wasn’t, either.
