Today, former Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle is reportedly “spiraling” after Donald Trump fired her, and she’s now apparently refusing to leave her official residence in Athens. The family of a British man killed by a tiger is begging the president to please stop circulating the video of his death on social media. Ohio Republican Vivek Ramaswamy accidentally featured a registered sex offender in his campaign materials on two separate occasions. And new inflation numbers show that, thanks to Trump’s war, prices are skyrocketing while our incomes are continuing to shrink.

Former Fox News host — and onetime fiancee of Donald Trump Jr. — Kimberly Guilfoyle was fired as ambassador to Greece in a uniquely humiliating fashion. Trump’s new White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia, announced Guilfoyle’s firing in her very first briefing. According to the Daily Beast’s PunchUp Substack, Guilfoyle didn’t take the news well.
According to one MAGA source Guilfoyle spent most of last night in a panicked state, calling multiple wealthy GOP donors and trying to enlist their support for her continuing to stay in her role. Another unnamed official said Guilfoyle overstayed her welcome and that the White House was effectively forced to fire her on live TV.
Guilfoyle’s problems began with allegations about her personal finances. The former Fox News host allegedly asked Republican donor Eric Deters to pay off her $100,000 American Express bill in a way that wouldn’t leave a paper trail, while offering potential access to influential people in Trump’s inner circle. The State Department’s inspector general has apparently been looking into various claims about Guilfoyle’s excessive luxury travel accommodations, improper gifts and her treatment of embassy staff.
Several insiders in both the Greek government and the U.S. State Department confided to the Daily Mail that last year, Guilfoyle approached several wealthy Greek businessmen in an attempt to get them to pony up $250,000 so she could pay off her luxury Mercedes-Benz SUV. The Mail’s sources say, however, she never got the money she was asking for.
Guilfoyle continues to deny all of the allegations through her lawyer, Jesse Binnall. She went on to say that some of the more damning messages she was alleged to have written were actually AI-generated, though White House officials were reportedly skeptical of that claim. Guilfoyle wrote on X that the allegations were false, and that she continues to have unwavering loyalty to Trump.
These days, she’s apparently “holed up” at the official ambassador’s residence in Athens. The Mail reported she’s been telling her own contacts that she can no longer trust anyone around her, and that unnamed officials within the Greek government refused to meet with her. One American official confided that no one in the Trump administration actually wants her to come back.
The UK-based family of 23 year-old William Chapman is grieving his horrific loss, and say that the president of the United States is needlessly exploiting his death at the hands of a tiger.
Chapman was killed Saturday after walking into a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster. His family said he was a bright, warm and engaging young man who has unfortunately struggled with mental illness for years, for which he was prescribed strong medication. Authorities are opening up an inquest on Thursday, and the local council has launched a health and safety investigation into Chapman’s death.
On Tuesday, Trump shared a clip of the vicious attack with his 13 million followers on his Truth Social platform. The video shows the tiger biting and clawing Chapman, with Trump adding the caption “Don’t ever mess with nature!” He then added his own post showing an AI-generated version of himself playing with the tiger, set to “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” complete with him copying Chapman’s finger-pointing gesture Chapman from the initial footage of his death.
Chapman’s family released a public statement saying that the circulation of the video is deeply offensive to them, adding that it’s caused significant emotional distress at a fragile time for those close to Chapman. Will Travers of the Born Free Foundation said Trump’s AI video was incredibly insensitive to the family and said it has the potential to inspire people to get into their own deadly encounters with captive animals.
Presidents are usually known for offering condolences to grieving families during vulnerable moments. But a president turning a mentally ill young man’s death into social media clickbait should tell us everything we need to know about the character of the man currently inhabiting the Oval Office.
In Ohio, Republican gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy has a serious vetting problem. According to The Bulwark, Ramaswamy posted and quickly deleted a video in September showing him shaking hands with a registered sex offender. A month later, that same man showed up again, this time in a television ad.
The man is Vernon Edwards of Amherst, Ohio, who pleaded guilty in 2006 to gross sexual imposition, which under Ohio law involves sexual contact with a minor. He was charged in a case involving a 13-year-old girl and faced similar allegations involving his nieces.
Edwards doesn’t speak in the commercial, but he appears in the background footage while his wife Patty credits Ramaswamy with lowering her property taxes. Making that mistake once is embarrassing. Making it a second time, after the campaign had already deleted the first video, raises real questions about who’s minding the store over there.
New Inflation Numbers Confirm Trump Is Wrecking the Economy
And finally, the economy. The Labor Department’s new Consumer Price Index report shows prices rose 0.6 percent in September alone, the biggest monthly jump in several months. Overall, prices are now 3.7 percent higher than they were a year ago.
Energy is driving a lot of it. Gas prices jumped 9.1 percent in September, accounting for nearly half the overall increase, and fuel oil, which plenty of Americans use to heat their homes, shot up 15.3 percent. That’s the biggest jump since March, shortly after the Iran war began, and that conflict still hasn’t been resolved.
Trump recently claimed oil is much cheaper now than it was under “sleepy Joe Biden.” Crude did briefly spike to nearly $140 a barrel in 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine, but prices at the pump largely settled down afterward. Gas leveled out around $3.20 a gallon by the end of 2022 and stayed there until Trump took office. Today the national average is $4.33.
Meanwhile, paychecks are heading in the other direction. The New York Times reports hourly wages fell half a percent in August and are down 0.7 percent over the past year, putting them right about where they were when Trump took office. The White House’s response has been social media posts telling Americans to trust the process.
Analysts expect the Federal Reserve to discuss raising interest rates again at the end of October, just ahead of the midterms. That might slow inflation, but it also makes borrowing more expensive for working families who are already being squeezed by Trump’s tariffs and his war with Iran. Franklin Roosevelt understood that an economy runs on working people having money in their pockets, and that’s a lesson this administration seems determined to ignore.
The entire reason billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Rupert Murdoch and David Ellison are buying up the biggest legacy media brands is simple: they want to be the ones who decide what you get to know.
