The 89 at the Purdue Airport was 3 degrees from tying the record of 92 set in 1897 & the low this morning of 70 will be the warmest morning low for October 1 on record. The old record being 69 set in 2002. That, as low as we do not drop below 67 at or before 11:59 p.m.
Heavier rainfall is coming in from the west & southwest with scattered showers & isolated storm in the area as of 8:15 p.m.
Flooding rain is occurring just northwest of our area.
Some places in our far northwest have seen nearly 1” of rainfall with 0.60” around Lake Village to near 1” northwest of Medaryville.
Some 0.50-0.60” amounts have occurred down to White, Cass counties.
Rainfall of +0.30” has occurred in parts of Greater Lafayette.
Rainfall increases & peaks overnight (with a couple isolated embedded storms & exits with time in the morning.
Rainfall of 0.40” to +1.50” is expected overnight.
