MAGA Crowd Cheers as Trump Suggests California Cities Could Get Nuked by Iran
At a campaign rally in Grand Island, Nebraska on Monday, Donald Trump fantasized about the destruction of Los Angeles and San Diego by Iran. When speaking about the war he launched in February, Trump said, “It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city, let ’em take out Los Angeles, let ’em take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay.” At the mention of the destruction of two American cities, the Trump rally crowd cheered loudly.
Governor Gavin Newsom fired back at Trump, posting, “After sending the National Guard and Marines to occupy California, Donald Trump is now saying our foreign enemies should ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego. He is deranged and dangerous.” According to The Hill, Newsom said “Trump was ‘mentally ill’ and called for the 25th Amendment to be invoked.” San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria wrote, “San Diego is not collateral damage. We are not expendable. And we are never a ‘small price to pay.’ Keep our city out of your reckless war talk.” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung responded saying, “The media freakout over President Trump’s comments is not rooted in reality. He was clearly stating U.S. cities would have been threatened if a nuclear Iran hadn’t been stopped. America is safer because of the President. Iran has no nuclear, no navy, no air force, and no money.”
On Wednesday, during a rally in San Antonio, Texas, Trump doubled down on the comments, saying, “You want to see trauma? You want to see problems? And I said it the other day, let them hit a missile into San Diego or Los Angeles on the way. You want to see a horror show? You wanna see problems? Let them hit San Diego. Let them hit Los Angeles. You want to see some bad things happen? You want see a country in free fall? We’re not going to let that happen, we protect our cities, we protect our country, we’re not letting that happen.”
Pentagon Will Livestream Execution of Fort Hood Killer
In the wake of Tennessee’s botched execution of Christa Pike by lethal injection last week, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Wednesday that the execution of Nidal Hasan, who killed 13 people in a 2009 mass shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas, would be livestreamed for the public to view.
