In 2026 America, you can publicly accept money from right-wing billionaires who support genocide and techno-fascist eugenicists, but you must never, ever criticize Israel and its ongoing war crimes.
Macklemore found out the hard way today after he revealed he was kicked off the Ed Sheeran concert tour for briefly using his opening act to oppose Israel’s occupation and genocide of Palestinians. He advocated for human rights and made clear he was speaking out against a nation-state and not the Jewish people. His remarks were benign and should be universally accepted by anyone who is, you know, opposed to genocide.
Unfortunately, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, a major donor to both Trump and Israel, isn’t among the majority calling for an end to supporting Israel’s crimes against humanity. He pressured Sheeran, who is apparently “apolitical,” to drop Macklemore.
Over the weekend, Susan Sarandon also said Hollywood studios have cancelled her for her pro-Palestinian advocacy. There’s a concentrated effort to silence Mark Ruffalo for calling out the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. merger that will cut jobs, silence free speech, and punish critics of Israel.
To ensure there’s no subtlety, Israel’s IDF Chief of Staff instructed the army’s top legal advisor to examine legal action against the Israeli Jewish filmmakers of the documentary, NAZA, that reveals the deliberate mass killing of Palestinian civilians by Israeli forces during the Gaza war. Israel is also looking into revoking their Israeli citizenship.
So much for free speech and rejecting cancel culture!
Instead, let’s talk about marginalizing Hasan Piker, Zohran Mamdani, and Abdul El-Sayed.
How much more are Americans willing to give up for Israel, a tiny country in the Middle East run by war criminals whose lobbying arm, AIPAC, has spent more money than any other PAC to influence our elections this year?
