Words matter, regardless of intention and context. This was apparent during a recent conversation I had with Palestinian journalist and activist Rula Jebreal on The Left Hook. While discussing the shameful complicity of Democratic leaders in covering up Israel’s genocide, Jebreal used a racist trope of “errand boy” and “monkey” when talking about Hakeem Jeffries.
