If you run anything by yourself, you probably know that strange part of the day when the work is technically finished, but the business is still sitting in your head.
There is an email you forgot to answer. A lead you meant to check. Tomorrow’s content is still blank. You need to look at the numbers. Someone needs a follow-up. There is probably one important thing buried somewhere in your inbox.
I know this feeling very well. The exhausting part is often not one huge job. It is carrying ten small jobs in your head at the same time.
That is why I have been watching the latest Claude updates so closely.
Because those little jobs are exactly where Claude has suddenly become much more interesting.
Claude quietly crossed a line
A year ago, using Claude usually meant opening a chat, asking for something, copying the answer and moving on.
That is no longer the whole product.
Claude can now work with your email, calendar, Drive, CRM, accounting tools, Shopify, Stripe, Slack and dozens of other services. Anthropic’s Small Business package now has 43 ready-made workflows and 27 newer integrations, covering work across sales, marketing, finance and operations.
And the part I find more important: Claude can run many of these jobs on a schedule.
You can tell it to prepare something every morning, every Monday or every month. Scheduled tasks run remotely, so your laptop does not need to stay open.
That changes the question.
Instead of asking:
“What can Claude help me do?”
I think a better question is:
“Which parts of my business should already be done before I sit down to work?”
That is the one-person company I want to build in this guide.
Not a fake company with twelve AI employees and funny names.
A real business where you still make the important decisions, but Claude carries much more of the repeated work underneath you.
The full build is below: the exact Claude setup, Company Project, Small Business plugin, connectors, four real workflows for research, content, sales and operations, reusable Skills, scheduled automations, browser control, the right models for each job, and the simple rule that lets Claude carry the work without taking control of your business.
Do not build agents yet. Give Claude a business first
The first setup takes about thirty minutes.
Open Claude and create one Project for your company.
