There is something about money that I find quite strange. You can remember a big purchase from six months ago, but a small charge that has been quietly taking money from your account for a year? You might never notice it.
And sometimes, the money you could have saved was sitting right there in your own transactions.
Yesterday, Anthropic announced something new for Claude. I think this could become one of its most useful features for everyday life, especially if you have ever wondered where your money actually goes.
Take a look at this announcement.
Anthropic has introduced Personal Finance in Claude, a new feature that connects Claude to your actual bank and credit card accounts.
You can now ask Claude about your spending, savings, bills, debt, and unusual charges. It reads your connected financial information and explains everything in simple English.
In Anthropic’s demonstration, Claude finds $4,309.37 in monthly spending, including $1,024.51 on food and drinks. It then checks upcoming payments and estimates that $1,393.22 will remain before payday.
These are example figures, but the feature behind them is real.
What caught my attention is how naturally one question can lead to another. You can ask why a bill increased, whether you paid twice, or how much money you could save by changing a few habits.
And you don’t have to understand banking terms or prepare your own calculations.
The interesting part is learning how to ask Claude the right questions. Let’s get into it below
