For some years now, I’ve been going against the “anti-Islam” bandwagon, arguing that the root problem in the West is not Islam per se but the powers-that-be that bring in, enable, provide cover for, and empower Islam in the West.
This is not because I think Islam is a peaceful and tolerant religion that is compatible with the West. It’s because I know that, unlike previous centuries, Muslims are currently incapable of forcing their way in or making any changes to the West.
For those who absolutely hate Islam, and who—as per human nature—recoil from any hint that the problem may ultimately be “their” (meaning their society’s) fault, this has not been a popular argument.
After all, it is much more satisfying to present Muslims in the West as wild, lawless invaders, to which my constant refrain has been, “it’s not an invasion; it’s an invitation.”
If you doubt this, consider how the word *invasion *is defined by some of the most authoritative dictionaries:
Merriam-Webster: an “incursion of an army for conquest or plunder… an instance of invading a country or region with an armed force. … an unwelcome intrusion into another’s domain.
Cambridge: “an occasion when an army or country uses force to enter and take control of another country.”
Oxford: “the act of an army entering another country by force in order to take control of it.”
Muslims certainly did all this historically, but they are in absolutely no position to do it now. All any Western nation has to do—as Hungary and Poland did—is say, “No thank you; entry denied.” Problem solved.
Recent developments especially underscore that this is an invitation not invasion problem: At a time when Muslim migrants in the West are creating a massive spike in crime and destabilization; at a time when the peoples of Western Europe—especially Britain—are vociferously declaring their desire not only to stop migration but to begin remigration; and at a time when the authorities of all parties are at least nominally expressing support for the will of the people—the truth is revealed:
Western authorities are still bringing in Muslim migrants—not just against the people’s will, but illegally.
