This morning, President Trump will address the UN General Assembly in New York City. At our press time, this was a YouTube link to an upcoming live feed of the speech. You should be able to run it back and watch it, or there will be other links on YouTube just to the speech itself.
He’s ** expected to address the US-Iran war**. US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz said to expect a healthy dose of Trump continuing to call out the ridiculous. For example, a recent report by the UN Human Rights Council accused the US military of war crimes in Iran. Waltz said that any civilian casualties of US actions are incidental and unintentional, not like the Tehran regime machine-gunning 40,000 unarmed protesters to death in three or four days.
That claim was backed up Monday by a report by the UN Fact-Finding Mission on Iran, which found that Tehran committed crimes against humanity in its protest crackdowns beginning in 2025, including unlawful killings, torture, mass arrests and internet blackouts.
Trump is also ** expected to talk about Iran’s nuclear threat**, the Gaza peace talks, his efforts to deal with global problems that previous Administrations let fester for years, and his efforts to “put the UN on a diet.” That refers to his cutting $1 billion from its budget to reduce its bloated bureaucracy and refocus on its basic mission of peace and security.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump is open to meeting with the President of Iran on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. But whether something would come of that, he couldn’t say because the real decisions are made by the “Supreme Leader,” who is a radical Shia cleric whose decisions are determined by his theology. Or as he put it more succinctly on “Fox & Friends,” Iran is “run by lunatic clerics.”
This morning, President Trump will meet with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederick Nielsen for a trilateral signing ceremony of the new security deal announced over the weekend. It will extend the US’s longtime military rights in Greenland, ** allow the US to add more military installations without approval from Denmark or Greenland**, and block our adversaries from establishing a military presence there. In short, everything that Trump actually wanted.
But wait: What about all the talk from Trump about the US taking over Greenland that caused all the media and Democrat hysteria? Was that nothing but a negotiating tactic, to demand the absurd and then “settle” for what he actually wanted, also known as “the art of the deal”? Why, yes, it was. Imagine that.
Monday, ** it was announced** that Paramount Skydance has reached a settlement of the lawsuit by a group of blue states that was blocking its acquisition of Warner Brothers. Four states were holding out for more demands, but reportedly gave in when California did.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta was being justifiably lambasted for the lawsuit, which had Paramount threatening to move to another state (a report circulated of Realtors in Nashville looking for homes for its executives.) That would have dealt a virtual death blow to the entertainment industry in Hollywood, costing over 50,000 jobs.
Some Democrats, such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, were urging no settlement of the lawsuit. You might recall that it was the combination of Warren and Bonta’s economic ignorance that blocked the Spirit Airlines merger, sending that company into bankruptcy with devastating results for its employees and stockholders. We guess Warren figured she could do endless damage and not be voted out of office, but Bonta must not feel as secure.
Incidentally, the deal includes an agreement to appoint “independent editorial boards” for CBS and CNN, to prevent the corporation from directing their news decisions. We’ve heard the phrase “independent editorial board” enough times to know what that means: More leftists posing as journalists slanting the news. We’ve recently seen the wholesale mutiny at CBS over the barest attempts to make them act like objective journalists, so we assume that if CNN had been forced to do that, it would have led to mass resignations of the people already there, and what a tragedy for America that would be.
UPDATE: Monday, in response to President Trump barring CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House from White House press briefings due to their “fake news,” ABC, CBS, NBC and even Fox News announced that they would suspend their White House pool coverage in protest. ** Nick Arama at Redstate.com has more**.
The White House issued a social media post of a TV with the caption, “Something’s coming. Stay tuned,” but it’s not clear if that means they’re planning something to replace the pool coverage. In the meantime, just to clarify a lot of the outraged claims online: The ban is NOT a “violation of the networks’ First Amendment rights.” They are still free to say anything they want about Trump (and we’re sure they will), they just can’t stand in the White House briefing room and harangue him in person. There are hundreds of media outlets that would love a seat there, but they don’t get in either because there’s not enough space.
Of course, Trump could build a ballroom that could hold them all and do his briefings there. But we saw how they covered that story.
Author Nichole Hannah-Jones, who has inflicted fake history on millions of students with her anti-American “1619 Project” that depicts all of US history as being built on slavery and racism, is feeling the effects of bad education in her own home.
The multi-millionaire author is such a strident activist that she used her own daughter Najya as a guinea pig to make a political point. In a New York Times essay, she admitted to enrolling Najya in substandard schools and encouraging other affluent black parents to do the same to draw attention to New York’s “separate and unequal” school system (wait, isn’t New York run by Democrats? How can they have a racist, apartheid school system?) Of course, most decent parents will do anything to get their kids into the best possible schools, and Hannah-Jones could have afforded the very best, with her ill-gotten gains from her putrid book.
This stunt tragically backfired when her now-teenage daughter blew up at her for sacrificing her own child’s education to make a political point. When Najya got into high school, she discovered that she was way behind all her classmates. She angrily confronted her mother, demanding, “Did you know my school was bad like this when you decided to put me here?” And “So you had money to send me to one of the best schools, and you chose not to? Because other kids are disadvantaged, you didn’t want to put me in a great school?”
(Najya may be behind in school, but it sounds as if she has 10 times the common sense that her mother does.)
Hannah-Jones now admits that she doesn’t know what she accomplished by sacrificing her own daughter’s education for a political stunt, admitting that “these days I feel that I failed both my values and my child.”
Well, you failed your child, but your values are as intact as ever. You became rich by pushing bad education, and at least you were consistent in inflicting it on your own kid. That’s more than most hypocritical wealthy leftists do. And you proved your point: Under Democrat leadership, it’s more important to kowtow to teachers’ unions than it is to ensure that every child, including poor black children, gets a good education. If you really wanted to fight that, you could urge people to vote Republican.
New Wrinkle: President Trump has done such a good job of sealing the border that illegal aliens are now invading America by sea. He ** may have to build the world’s longest, highest seawall**.
