Prince George arrived at Eton College on Monday morning, flanked by his parents, to begin life as a boarder at the 586-year-old school that educated his father, his uncle Harry, and 20 British prime ministers.

The 13-year-old future king, dressed in “half change” (a dark blazer, shirt, tie, and chinos, finished with brown suede shoes), emerged from the arch beneath Lupton’s Tower, the 16th-century gatehouse, at around 10:30 a.m. and walked across the cobbled School Yard, past the bronze statue of the school’s founder, Henry VI, to shake hands with head master Simon Henderson (nicknamed Trendy Hendy) and Provost Sir Nicholas Coleridge, chair of the governing body.

“Welcome,” Henderson told him. “Good luck. Enjoy it.”
