Rep. Ro Khanna has joined Democrats in standing up for Ilhan Omar, who is being targeted by a racist and desperate Trump Administration trying to deflect from its failed policies and horrific poll numbers ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
We’re still awaiting a press conference with Democratic leaders firmly calling out the GOP’s Islamophobia and hate campaign against Omar and other Muslim elected officials. Don’t hold your breath. The casual anti-Muslim fearmongering has long been tolerated by corporate media, liberals, and some Democrats. Just look at Bill Maher and the ongoing campaign against Abdul El-Sayed and Mamdani. Khanna, thankfully, called it out on MSNOW recently when a Republican’s slander went unchallenged.
Khanna believes the politics of old will not only doom Democrats moving forward but also exacerbate the mounting problems and afflictions of Americans who are losing out as billionaires continue to amass an obscene amount of wealth. As such, Khanna is breaking from Democratic leaders, such as Gavin Newsom, and calling out Israel’s genocide and the broligarchy. He is championing a billionaire tax in California even though he represents Silicon Valley, the financial hub of technofascists.
Khanna believes in the politics of transformation, which demands a New Deal for the 21st century. If he sounds like he’s running for President, well, don’t be surprised if he does. However, he’s challenging corporate centrism and championing progressives such as Bernie Sanders.
Khanna returns to The Left Hook to articulate why the status quo won’t get it done.
