Discussion about this post
A great interview, with many insights and a great deal of foresight. Good, precise questions from the interviewer, and clear, confident and honest answers from S. Marandi.
The situation on the ground is deteriorating. This is evident, among other things, from the fact that Prof. Marandi is no longer commenting from his own home, as he did in previous months, but once again from an unknown but protected location. Good so!
And Prof. Glenn Diesen is travelling to the region in order to be even closer to the heart of events. Bravo. A good example in this respect is Roger Köppel from the Swiss magazine "Die Weltwoche!"
I would also strongly recommend to all viewers the book that Prof. Marandi briefly mentioned once again: Going to Tehran: Why America Must Accept the Islamic Republic of Iran, by F. Leverett and H. Mann Leverett, Picador, ISBN 978-1-250-04353-5.
Bahrain was lost long. The monarchy, which doesn't even have an army, pretty much controls only the capital and one other city
