Camilla is a prominent British journalist, a regular columnist for the Financial Times, a member of the House of Lords, a former McKensie Management Consultant, an Aid Worker, the former Head of the Downing Street Policy Unit under Prime Minister David Cameron, Author of Extra Time: Ten Lessons for an Aging World, Demographic Expert, Daughter of a Academic Scholar of the Occult, a Baroness, a Senior Fellow at Harvard's Kennedy School, a graduate of Oxford and Harvard, and a truly nice person! This discussion with Camilla is wide ranging, covering her many interests and exploring her deep perspectives on the topics ranging from Russia's invasion of Ukraine, China's economic and military ascendancy, and global demographic change. Whatever the issue, Camilla has an intriguing point of view or challenging question to raise. She is one of the most influential people in the UK. Here's a short bio: Camilla Cavendish is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster, and the author of “Extra Time: Ten Lessons for an Ageing World,” published by Harper Collins in 2019. She is a Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School and a Contributing Editor at the Financial Times where she writes a weekly OpEd column on Saturdays. Camilla’s career has spanned both the private and public sectors. She was Head of the Prime Minister’s Downing Street Policy Unit under David Cameron and previously a Non-Executive Director of the Care Quality Commission, the national NHS and care regulator. In 2020 Camilla became a temporary adviser to the Secretary of State for Health during the Covid-19 pandemic and authored a set of recommendations into the reform of health and social care. She sits in the House of Lords as a crossbench peer and until 2022 was Chair of the non-profit Frontline, which puts talented graduates into social work. Camilla started her career at McKinsey & Co and also worked for the CEO of Pearson PLC. She is currently a strategy adviser to a number of companies. She holds degrees from Oxford and Harvard.
