Islam’s teaching on the sword and the blood it sheds is a diabolical parody of Christianity’s teaching of the cross and the Blood it shed.
Both wipe away all sins and save from the fires of hell; both guarantee eternal paradise.
This is no exaggeration. If Christ’s crucifixion, death, and resurrection saves and washes away the sins of Christians, Muslims killing and being killed by the sword saves and washes away the sins of Muslims.
As we already saw, both the Koran and Hadith—Allah and Muhammad’s words—present jihad as the greatest act a Muslim can perform.
“Lining up for battle in the path of Allah,” said the prophet, “is worthier than 60 years of worship.”
In other words, one act of jihad is in Allah’s eyes more meritorious than 110,000 thousand prostration prayers and 1,800 days of fasting. Even these numbers are insufficient as Muhammad would go on to liken jihad to “praying ceaselessly and fasting continuously.”
Yet one more thing remains more praiseworthy than engaging in jihad: dying in jihad.
Consider the following passage from the Koran:
Allah has bought from the believers their lives and worldly goods and in return has promised them Paradise: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise binding on Him … and who is more true to his pledge than Allah? Rejoice then in the bargain you have struck, for that is the supreme triumph.
(Incidentally, it was as a nod to this verse—Koran 9:111—that al-Qaeda chose the date 9/11/1 to strike.)
Elsewhere the Islamic deity says that whoever wages jihad is essentially making a “fine loan to Allah,” which the latter guarantees to pay back “many times over,” always commensurate with the jihadist’s efforts—with death being the pinnacle of success (Koran 2:245, 4:95).
While the above make clear that nothing is quite so special to Allah as killing and being killed for him, Muhammad would go on to present the shedding of blood—one’s own and that of one’s enemies’—as on a par with the shedding of Christ’s blood.
Before demonstrating this, let us first see what the Bible says about the cross, Christ’s blood, and salvation:
“[Christ] washed us from our sins in his own blood” (Rev. 1:5);
“The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7);
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself” (Col. 1:20);
“While we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us…justified by his blood, we shall be saved...” (Rom. 5:8-9);For more, see also Matt. 26:28; 1 Cor. 15:3; Col. 2:13-14; Heb. 9:14, 9:26, 10:12-14; Gal.3:13; Eph: 1:7, 2:16; Isa. 53:5-6, 12; 1 Pet. 2:24).
Witness now the many little-known hadiths in which Muhammad took this very same Christian paradigm, but perverted it, so that the sword replaces the cross as the instrument of death, and the bloodshed that washes away sins is not Christ’s but one’s own.
