It will lead you to those trying to control and shape American politics, media, culture, and the military-industrial complex.
You quickly realize it’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.
Thanks to Citizens United, the broligarchs can spend an unlimited amount of money to purchase politicians who will echo their talking points and policies, even if it comes at the expense of democracy, free speech, and affordability. Just look at what happened in California, where Democrats bent the knee to the Ellisons, who increased their media empire with the acquisition of CNN and Warner Bros., in addition to Paramount, TikTok, and CBS.
The broligarchy is bipartisan with their money, doling out obscene amounts of money to both sides of the aisle. These (mostly) men made their fortune in AI and Crypto and are betting on an inshallah economy where they break stuff, like our democracy, but end up with a giant bag at the end. Many of them also support Israel and will use their power and influence to crush any opposition. Just look at billionaire Robert Kraft flexing his power to cancel Macklemore for daring to say, “Free Palestine,” at a concert. Follow the $60+ billion spent against Abdul El-Sayed in the Democratic Primary to support Haley “I see Israel in my dreams” Stevens.
Despite their best efforts, they lost.
They also failed to eliminate Zohran Mamdani, and despite being outspent 18 to 1, Angie Nixon won her primary in Florida thanks to her grassroots, community organizing, and progressive policies championing workers and affordability. Like the Terminator, however, they can’t stop. They won’t stop.
