President Trump said Thursday that the Strait of Hormuz is open, and the US has both control of the Strait and the blockade on Iran. He also said that due to US sanctions, Iran is in “deep trouble” and can’t pay its troops. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said this is only the beginning, and the US will be “tightening the noose” on Iran’s revenues so “there will be no minimal breathing space for the regime to rebuild its capacity to inflict terror against America and the world.”
Trump also shared an image on Truth Social showing the Strait as a US territory. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi replied on X that “Schizophrenia is a complex and acute psychotic disorder that manifests with disturbances in thinking and a distorted perception of reality.” Or as that’s known in Iran, a “snappy comeback.”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry also declared that the sanctions amount to “US state terrorism against Iran and the world.” And if there’s anything Iran hates, it’s governments that sponsor terrorism.
CENTCOM reported that Iranian mines had been cleared from the Strait of Hormuz.
The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council dismissed as a lie a video claiming that Iran offered a $10 million bounty to assassinate Trump’s youngest son, Barron. The Secret Service said they are aware of the video and are investigating anything that might be perceived as a threat.

In the latest shot in the trade war with Canada, President Trump signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America. He added, “If you think about it, we have a gulf, and we have a lake. Now, all we need is an ocean. So, maybe we’ll have to change the name of the Atlantic and or the Pacific. Maybe we’ll change them both.”
Actually, ** it might be confusing** to name them both “America,” so the Atlantic should become the Trump Ocean.
** Jennifer Oliver O’Connell at Redstate.com** has a round-up of the left’s hysterical reactions to what we suspect will be a temporary stunt. They are OUTRAGED that anyone would try to change such a well-known, longstanding name. As O’Connell reminds us, these are the same people who changed Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day; demanded the erasure of Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben and Land O’ Lakes; and toppled historic statues nationwide because they didn’t like the history they commemorated. So cry us a Lake America of tears.

We’ve long known that one of the reasons why ending the endless attacks on Israel is so hard is that in certain areas of the Middle East, teaching children to hate and murder Jews is as common as potty training, if not more so. Westerners are occasionally shocked at seeing clips of children’s TV shows in which Disney-like characters are teaching anti-Semitism (although they might not seem as unusual in an age when we have our own “children’s entertainers” pushing radical politics as well.)

Read the whole thing, but steel yourself first. It proves that anti-Semitic terrorists have learned the same lesson that anti-American socialists have: If you want to warp people to believe your sick views, take over the schools and get them while they’re young.
We’ve run a number of reports on accusations that the Democrat fundraising giant ActBlue launders illegal donations by ascribing them to unsuspecting and often poor senior citizens. But even worse is when Democrats bilk seniors into giving up their own money.
Using FEC data, Stanford University political science professor Adam Bonica discovered that Democratic spam PACs are targeting the elderly with solicitations while paying themselves millions and living like kings. Since 2017, these spam PACs ** have raised $1.4 billion**. Nearly half of that (49%) came from just 1% of Democratic donors: those with an average age of 75.
There are some heartbreaking examples of this abuse, including an elderly Indianapolis woman in assisted living who donated $250,000, money that was supposed to go for her own care.
How bad are the study’s findings? Here’s a clue: Bonica was originally working on it in collaboration with the New York Times. But after they got a call from Democrat superlawyer Marc Elias’ Law Group, they killed the story. It finally appeared on Bonica’s Substack page.
Investigative journalist Peter Schweizer said, “It’s really become a protection racket precisely for those who are against Donald Trump, If this was about the Republican Party, I think they would have run this piece, and they should have run this piece.”
