Important Election Note! We keep hearing on the news that the midterm elections are only six weeks away, but that isn’t true. Thanks largely to Democrats trying to stretch out Election Day to Election Two Months, ** early voting in some places actually begins TODAY**.
That’s right: A month-and-a-half before Election Day, before the month of “October Surprises” has even arrived and before some candidates have begun making their cases for election, early voting is already starting in Virginia, and absentee ballots can be cast in person in states such as Idaho, Minnesota and South Dakota.
We deplore this trend, which has many voters filing their ballots before they’re fully informed and before any last-minute revelations that might make them sorry they voted as they did. Ordinarily, we would urge our readers to vote early and then drive their family and friends to the polls to counteract the enthusiasm on the deranged leftist front. But please, do not vote THIS early. It’s bad for America and it shouldn’t be encouraged. But once the election is a week or two away, then vote as if America’s continued existence depended on it, because it does.
The Democrats don’t just have a socialism problem, they have a Hasan Piker problem. The obnoxious radical social media parasite has become a big enough influence in the party that most Democrats are walking a tightrope, suspended between distancing themselves from him and embracing him. Only a few have had the integrity to denounce him for his despicable rhetoric.
For those who have so far refused to denounce him and used the “big tent” dodge, here’s the latest on what you’ve let into your tent (get a mosquito net): ** It’s Piker declaring that America is a worse terrorist threat than al-Qaeda** and “Pound for pound, as far as the number of deaths, yes. We have caused tremendous terror all around the world.”
Frankly, if we don’t cover his every instance of brain drool, it’s because we don’t want to give him the publicity that earns him attention, clicks and revenue, in the political version of a celebrity who exposes her naughty bits on OnlyFans. While Piker is the darling of the socialist/anti-capitalist mob, he’s just like Bernie Sanders in that he’s discovered that pushing socialism is the best way for a lazy and unaccomplished jerk to get rich.
Here’s a report from ** Dave Rubin on how Piker** has parlayed radical socialism (as well as anti-Semitism, anti-capitalism, anti-Americanism and other leftist isms) into a hypocritical affluent lifestyle as an online “influencer” that a top stockbroker might envy.
Yesterday, we had a round-up of Democrats being caught on hidden camera, admitting that the moderate centrist act they were putting on was just to get elected. One of them featured a lesbian minister from Texas Senate candidate Jame Talarico’s church, assuring someone that “I can guarantee you that once he gets elected, he’ll change his tune back to where he was.”
Well, Breitbart News has the next shoe to drop: ** a hidden camera video of Rev. Jim Rigby, pastor of Talarico’s church**, his lifelong mentor and the man Talarico ranked with his grandfather as the “biggest influences on me as a Christian, as a human being.” In it, Rigby says, “I’ve been on trial within the denomination for LGBT stuff, abortion and non-theist…We had an atheist join the church but that’s not a big deal here.” The video was taken just before Rigby was about to speak to the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the nation’s largest group of atheists and agnostics who believe religion impedes moral and social progress.
As noted at the link, Rigby also refuses to use male pronouns for God (he considers it a form of “violence”), or use the word “Lord” (too wealthy, male and European sounding), or even “God.”
Talarico’s campaign ads make him sound like a pro-business, low-tax, small town Christian, but it’s an odd form of Christianity where God is non-binary, Jesus supports abortion, and every religion is equal in leading to God, which is a term you’re not even allowed to say.
Americans have a right to Freedom From Religion if they want, but you don’t expect a church to be 100% Religion-Free.
Things we never expected to see: After years of the left pushing “body positivity” and screaming about the “male gaze,” ** the New Yorker magazine (!) of all outlets** has an article admitting that it’s conservatives who are ‘bringing sexy back.” From the crushing of Bud Light for using a dude in a dress as an endorser to the unapologetic sexiness of Sydney Sweeney (which drives feminists insane) to the return of fit and attractive models in fashion ads to sexy lingerie returning to Victoria’s Secret, the full-scale rejection of the woke left’s attempt to “redefine beauty” is on the march.
Even the New Yorker has to admit (and grudgingly admire) conservatives for bringing sexy back. Although we might modestly say it was mostly just people with functioning eyeballs.
Incidentally, the media are making a big to-do about Sydney Sweeney allegedly losing 200,000 Instagram followers because feminists are OUTRAGED that she appears strategically nude in an ad for a sports betting app. They claim it’s an offensive affront to women in sports (she brilliantly responded by posting multiple photos of pro and Olympic female athletes posing nude for Sports Illustrated.)
For perspective, in his Substack podcast, Jim Treacher notes that Sweeney has 25.7 million Instagram followers so if she loses 200,000, that’s 0.78%, so “I think she’ll be okay.”
We also wonder if they bothered counting all the new male followers that ad is likely to earn for her.
Latest Trendy Worry: Monica Corcoran Harel writing in The Cut magazine identifies a worrisome new trend: “My Husband Has No Friends.”
According to this article, many husbands who used to be fun guys with lives outside their relationship with their wives no longer hang out with other dudes. Their wives are so concerned about being their introverted husbands’ only friends that they’re pushing them to go out to parties and socialize with other men.
Gee, we wonder why husbands would have stopped going out and hanging around with their bros? What could possibly have given them the idea that that will cause them more grief than it’s worth? ‘Tis a puzzlement…
