The way the case for Catholic miracles often goes is the Catholic presents specific features of apparent miracles that they claim are unexplainable. Often there really are some things that I are hard to explain without saying something goofy-sounding. But there’s a lot about the world that I can’t explain. So here, I want to illustrate that even non-miraculous things often end up pretty weird.
This is the first installment in a series of articles surveying the evidence for magic powers of stage magicians. My objective is to present the miracle case for stage magic in a way that is rigorous enough to persuade those that are strongly predisposed towards skepticism. That means empirical data has to be inferred from primary sources and every skeptical explanation has to be excluded by multiple lines of evidence.
