Good Morning,
Crypto spent a decade fighting regulators for permission to tokenize stocks, only to discover this week that the real gatekeepers were never in Washington but in corporate legal departments that see no upside in being first.

WHAT MATTERS
**State of play: **The growing wall of corporate objections looks like a rejection of tokenized equities, but under an SEC design where saying no is free and silence becomes irrevocable consent after 30 days.
Wells Fargo, Cisco, Marvell, Arm, Intuit, and Moderna
joinedMicrosoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, and McDonald’s, bringing total objections to 22.Not every objection is a departure, since Wells Fargo, Arm, and Cerebras were never on the venue’s original 62-company roster.
OKXICE plans to trade via Uniswap pools on OKX’s XLayer with stablecoin settlement, under the SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption.
Nasdaq, itself a tokenization backer, will object too, warning that venues outside the National Market System could fragment liquidity and weaken price discovery.
Securitize and BitGo said they will not object, with Securitize arguing issuer education is the missing piece.
Why it matters: The first live test of the SEC’s tokenized stock framework shows issuers, not regulators, now control how fast US equities move onchain.
**Our take: **No issuer can veto its shares trading in a dark pool, yet tokenized venues need their blessing, a double standard that protects incumbents more than investors.
For builders and investors: Expect early rosters skewed to crypto-native and attention-hungry small caps, so watch for thin liquidity and adverse selection before treating TSV volume as real demand.
PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
Phantom is staking its US prediction market push on a CFTC no-action letter just as states keep winning ground in court, turning a consumer wallet into a frontline in the federal versus state fight over who gets to regulate event contracts.
The rollout began October 23 with access expanding over coming weeks, and users must complete KYC on Kalshi.
Trades are funded with Phantom’s CASH stablecoin, converted to fiat for settlement, at $0.02 per contract plus a network fee.
Phantom will block sports in Michigan and broader categories in Nevada and Washington, with restrictions subject to change as cases proceed.
General Counsel Kevin Jacobs called CFTC jurisdiction clear and expects the Supreme Court to have the final say.
Kalshi has logged $291B in volume this year, with October’s $55.33B on pace to top September’s $59.32B record.

CHARTS OF THE WEEK
**State of play: **US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $635.6M exit in their worst day since June, yet options traders are quietly adding year-end upside, suggesting tech-driven de-risking rather than lost conviction in BTC.
BlackRock’s IBIT led with $254.1M in withdrawals, followed by FBTC and ARKB, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT added $2.3M.
Weekly flows remain positive at $442.7M after strong inflows on Monday and Wednesday.
Ethereum ETFs shed $110.6M alongside Solana and Hyperliquid funds, with XRP funds the lone outlier adding $3.6M.
BTC fell 3.4% to around $81,500 as the Nasdaq posted its worst session since June, triggering $440M in liquidations, mostly longs.
Derive data shows odds of BTC topping $100K by Christmas rose to 12%, while odds of a drop below $70K fell to 11%.
**Our Take: **Ignore the daily outflows and watch Morgan Stanley’s MSBT, whose steady advisor-driven inflows suggest wealth clients are becoming Bitcoin’s most reliable buyers.
State of play: Aave V4’s revenue curve is finally𝕏 bending upward, but at a few hundred thousand dollars a month it remains a sliver of the broader Aave franchise, so the real test is whether it can pull meaningful activity from the wider ecosystem.
Monthly revenue rose from under $10K in May to roughly $220K in September, with October already near $265K, per TokenLogic data.
Borrow interest drives most of the revenue, with accruals contributing a large share since September and liquidation fees staying minimal.
V4 now carries over $450M in active loans across Ethereum, Arc, Base, and Avalanche.
Its hub and spoke design lets new collateral types share liquidity, but each market only pays off once borrowers put that liquidity to work.
Aave is targeting further expansion into tokenized equities, yield-bearing stablecoins, and institutional credit.
Our take: Nearly half of V4’s recent revenue is accruals, interest booked but not yet collected, so the growth story is real only if those borrowers keep paying through the next drawdown.
