Hey everyone,
The desecration of the White House by Donald Trump has no lower boundary. The ballroom, the glitter, gold and kitsch everywhere that makes my 80s style hotel in south east Poland en route to Ukraine look charming comes to mind. However, last night Trump made the clean sweep: Kirill Dimitriev, Putins case officer in charge of the Trump inner circle, appeared in a joint “humanitarian” propaganda event with Melania. I’m both shaken and stirred, but not the least surprised.
Also present and hailed as a great humanitarian was the Russian “Human Rights” Commissioner, Yana Lantratova, widely suspected of being one of the masterminds of the kidnapping of Ukrainian children in the occupied parts of Ukraine. The practice is a blatant war crime, but last night Lantratova was hailed as a “humanitarian”. The White House is now a sanctuary for war criminals.
Simultaneously, Trump and his son-in-law, the corruption mastermind Jared Kushner, announced that they were close to an agreement on Ukraine…and a security structure for Europe. Famously, Dimitriev has managed to convince Trump that Europe shouldn’t be present at the coming talks in Abu Dhabi, meaning Ukraine will have to fend for itself.
However, everyone with half a clue understands that the Ukrainian and European positions will be well coordinated and the the US and Russian delegations won’t be able to muscle the Ukrainians. I’d say we’re likely to see a breakdown.
