In a major development, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the European Union has agreed to join Operation Economic Outcast against Iran, to isolate and cripple the Tehran regime with harsh economic sanctions.
Vice President Vance said that the US is doing a lot of things to apply pressure on Iran to make it stop attacking commercial ships and its neighbors and to stop acting like terrorists in the Strait of Hormuz. ** He said the President still has plenty of additional tools** in his toolkit, and that “everything that could happen is on the table.” But the President isn’t dumb and won’t announce to the media exactly what he plans to do. (You know, like Biden and Obama did.)
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee spoke to KAN media in Israel about the current state of the US military and economic actions against Iran. Huckabee said the Iranian regime “may pretend that they’re doing just fine, but I don’t think anybody who looks at their situation honestly believes that. The Iranians are in an incredibly weakened position, militarily, and absolutely they’re weakened economically. The President’s actions, both militarily and economically, have put them in a very difficult position.” He warned that if Iran continues its aggression and pursuit of nuclear arms, it could face additional pressure from the US.
Meanwhile, the actions against Iran are also putting pressure on the US economy, with the average price of diesel fuel hitting a record $5.85 a gallon. But a caveat: that average includes blue states that put huge taxes on gas, so the price varies widely from state to state. For instance, as ** the Triple A gas price website shows**, a gallon of regular gas ranges from $3.44 in Indiana to a whopping $5.80 in California.
And in an update on Israel’s fight against the Hamas monsters who perpetrated the October 7th attacks, ** another one bites the dust**.
Despite higher gas prices caused by the fighting in Iran, the Labor Department ** reported Friday** that the US economy rebounded strongly in August after a decline in July, with employers adding 162,000 jobs. Economists had predicted only 56,000. This is a breaking story; more details will be posted at the link as they’re released.
Have you noticed that leftists love to run to the courts to get Republican agenda items blocked, expecting that their opponents will obey even the most outrageously biased rulings. Yet when the Supreme Court rules against them, ** they simply ignore it** and right on imposing their unconstitutional agenda.
We’re currently seeing high-profile examples with the judge who keeps blocking Trump’s mail-in ballot reforms after they were okayed by the SCOTUS, and now with a New Jersey school district that’s defying a high court ruling against schools letting kids change their pronouns and gender identities without notifying their parents.
The Thomas More Society is suing the School District of the Chathams over it, but even if they win, which they obviously should since this was ALREADY DECIDED by the Supreme Court, what will it take to get leftist school officials to obey a court ruling? Maybe throwing in a hefty fine and legal fees will get their attention.
The latest leftwing nonsense to surface is the idea that capitalism, slavery and white supremacy are all somehow connected. There is no logical connection, they just hate all those things and find them to be convenient buzzwords to rile up their followers, so they put them together into a hate sandwich, hoping nobody will notice the lack of coherence.
Luckily for us, people do notice it. In this must-read column, ** Derek Hunter recounts** a recent attempt by leftist cliché fountain Jemele Hill to serve up that rancid “capitalism/slavery/white supremacy” taco, only to have it tossed into the garbage by black Libertarian podcaster Kmele Foster.
Foster not only exposed the total lack of truth in her claims, he left her unable to answer when he demanded that she articulate the connections between those things, which she couldn’t because there are none. Foster called her claims “absurd and laughable” and pointed out to her that slavery is older than writing and predates capitalism.
RELATED: In ** another article** about that debate that includes the video, John Sexton at Hotair.com also brings in Texas Democrat Senate candidate James Talarico’s claims about racism and global capitalism being the cause of prisons, or some such idiocy.
Sexton notes that Asian Americans do better financially than blacks despite neither being white because more Asians do certain fundamental things that increase the odds of success for everyone, such as graduating high school and college and getting married.
Of all the ludicrous aspects of the claim that capitalism is white supremacist oppression (tell it to Oprah and Michael Jordan), the most glaringly stupid is that the loudest proponents of it tend to be extremely successful financially. Spewing anti-American horse droppings can be quite lucrative, which is why leftists like Jamele Hill live in gated communities, fly first class and stay in five-star hotels while crying about how capitalism is racist and oppressed minorities like her can’t get ahead in America.
We especially like the way Derek Hunter described Bernie Sanders, a Jewish socialist who constantly rails about capitalism and racism in America. He said that Bernie is now “worth tens of millions of dollars and has never really accomplished anything, remaining the only person kicked out of a commune for being too lazy.”
And we must credit Doug Bright on X for coining the best term we’ve heard to describe these hypocrites who live like kings in America, making millions by going on TV to denounce America as an oppressive land where people like them just can’t succeed. His perfect term for them:
1. Some good news out of Nepal: Nine days later, two trapped workers ** have been found alive**.
2. Music brings people together, and in this case: two countries. This is ** diplomacy we can get behind**.
3. Yesterday, CNN researchers dug up ** a treasure trove of deleted posts** by a top Democrat House challenger. It turns out, William Lawrence, candidate for the 7th congressional district in Michigan, hates almost everyone.
4. Tesla Cybercabs? ** Not so fast**.
**5. Send in the special envoys: **10 days after John Radcliffe the CIA Director made a surprise visit to Moscow, US peace envoys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, ** are on their way **to Kyiv and Moscow.
6. An interesting diagnosis for ** what’s wrong with healthcare**: “American medicine spends like the Yankees when it’s really the A’s.”
