The Metropolitan Police said U.S. authorities notified the force on Aug. 25 that they were conducting an investigation into suspected offenses in London involving indecent images of children. The force said it continues to liaise with American authorities. The U.S. Embassy said the diplomat was reassigned to the United States in connection with an ongoing investigation and that it would continue cooperating with British law enforcement.
