Vice President JD Vance sat for an interview aboard Air Force Two this week with Jack Posobiec, a conservative activist and media personality who promoted Stop the Steal in the run-up to Jan. 6 and repeatedly shared material from a website later sanctioned by the United States for interference in the 2020 election.
Human Events, where Posobiec hosts a daily program, reported Thursday that he interviewed Vance aboard Air Force Two. Real America’s Voice, which carried the conversation, promoted it as an exclusive interview conducted while the vice president was traveling.
The appearance comes as the Trump administration is engaged in a broader dispute with several major news organizations over access to the White House and presidential travel.
Last week, CNN was excluded from a scheduled television-pool assignment aboard Air Force One for a presidential trip to Tennessee. Real America’s Voice, a conservative outlet that is not part of the traditional network television pool, was included instead, according to The Associated Press.
Posobiec has for years been a prominent figure in pro-Trump media and activism. The Southern Poverty Law Center has documented his promotion of Stop the Steal before the 2020 election and in the period leading up to Jan. 6, 2021.
The movement became intertwined with the effort to prevent certification of Joe Biden’s election victory. The House committee that investigated Jan. 6 concluded that Donald Trump used false claims of a stolen election to summon supporters to Washington and urged them to pressure Congress to halt the electoral count.
