Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a speech at the UN today, heard by a handful of people in the room because a majority left to protest the war criminal currently presiding over the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Outside the UN, Netanyahu was greeted by hundreds of protestors, including celebrities such as Hannah Einbinder and Susan Sarandon, who were arrested, alongside Darializa Chevalier and others. Meanwhile, Macklemore, who was booted off the Ed Sheeran concert for saying, “Free Palestine,” just announced a new concert tour to help Gaza.
Despite global opinion turning on Israel, some Democratic leaders and the majority of Republican elected officials continue to bend the knee to this insane, genocidal regime. Democratic leaders, including Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer, still take money from AIPAC, even as it is funded by right-wing pro-Trump billionaires and committed to taking out progressives, such as Abdul El-Sayed and Zohran Mamdani, who were both shouted out by Netanyahu. Progressive streamer Hasan Piker was also mentioned, because this is the absurd hellscape we live in.
