Democrats are poised to retake the U.S. House majority in this year’s midterms. The question remaining is what their margin of victory will be.
Thanks to Donald Trump’s mid-decade redistricting scheme and the Supreme Court’s Callais decision, Republicans were able to redraw themselves a cushion of three or four more seats that Democrats will have to overcome to achieve even a bare majority. But in a potential Democratic wave election, where the environment may favor Dems by as much as +9 or +10 points, it’s worth asking whether those redrawn districts are even safe for the GOP.
