California Democrats just bent the knee to billionaire Larry Ellison and his son David Ellison, allowing for the merger that will allow these pro-genocidal, pro-MAGA freaks to control two of the five Hollywood studios, CBS, CNN, and a host of other channels and entities.
Oh, Larry Ellison, who made his money through Oracle, also bought out TikTok after that app was accused by both Republicans and Democrats of radicalizing young people against Israel. If you thought it was hard to say, “Free Palestine,” and still keep your job or your opening act in a lucrative concert tour, it’s going to become much harder after this merger.
In addition to harming the entertainment industry and killing jobs, the Ellison takeover is another dagger in “the free press,” which has been slowly but surely taken over by anti-democratic fascists who have replaced real journalists with spineless stenographers. If you challenge power, you will be fired, cancelled, or censored.
As proof, over the weekend, Donald Trump decided to go full authoritarian and remove CNN, MSNow, and Politico from the White House press pool because he didn’t like their reporting of facts regarding his numerous failed policies.
After a decade, the corporate press has realized that face-eating leopards eat all faces. They went along with Trump’s attack on their colleagues, on the free press, on the First Amendment, as long as they were able to get their access, interviews, scoops, and book deals. They kept quiet as he insulted female reporters and denigrated the press as “the enemy of the people.” They laughed it up recently at the WHCD, alongside fascist Stephen Miller.
Well, Trump’s latest action might have finally helped them grow an artificial spine for a week. Major outlets, including Fox, have joined in solidarity and decided to boycott Trump’s presser.
