Morning all. Here’s some happy data to start your day:
The big story in the early vote continues to be the jawdropping surge of Hispanic voters all across the country:
Look at these wildly encouraging polls CNN released this morning:
Here’s the CNN headline from their poll story. Lots of ketchup flying in the White House today:
Here’s a summary of the polls we’ve seen in the last few days. Ain’t a lot of red in there!
While Donnie got a decent GDP report today, with the new ugly PCE data he also got this morning let’s review how he ended the election for his party - one of the worst months of inflation in the modern era of our politics:
So the proud plucky patriots of this community got together last night for our last Wednesday night gathering of the 2026 election. Here is some of what we discussed…..
From the earliest days of this promising cycle we talked about the need for Dems to learn once again how to win in red places and red states, to expand our map, and regain our lost majority. Well peeps with five days to go we are competitive in places like Alaska and Texas, throughout the Heartland/Midwest, and even in places in the Deep South. All places we have not won successfully in many, many years. We have expanded our map and grown as a national party in deeply encouraging ways.
A central reason we’ve been able to do this is by embracing what I call a raucous pluralism. We are rallying behind a wildly diverse set of candidates from across the country who fit their districts and states, and come from an extraordinary range of backgrounds and experiences - firefighters, nurses, teachers, navy pilots, chaplains, local electeds, union leaders, drill instructors, waitresses, farmers, and doctors…….One of the reasons we are seeing so many “regular” people emerge is that our low dollar fundraising system - all of you - provides seed capital to let any Democrat become competitive. You no longer need to be rich to run for office and win.
This dynamic has helped a new type of Democrat emerge this cycle, what I am calling servant-leaders, people who have a clear proven track record of delivering and putting people and their communities over themselves. In a time of extraordinary abandonment and betrayal by Trump and his fellow oligarchs, voters are looking for people they know will fight for them, deliver for them, work to make things better for them and their families, and put things right in this country where things have gone so off course. They are looking for leaders like this remarkable people we’ve met along the way:
We also talked about how given how bad everything has gotten for Trump and the Rs, despite their control over legacy and social media, their enormous corrupt spend, their 24/7/365 right-wing noise machine, and given that Trump has seen his allies be denied power by voters in Hungary, Brazil, Serbia, and now Israel, we must assume that Trump’s fuckery is going to go into overdrive these next few weeks and that he - desperate, scared, pathetic - is going to do whatever it takes to keep himself and his allies in power, here and everywhere.
And we, in the face of this, will approach this next phase of our fight be being prepared, not scared; and that we will, if things start going sideways, lead the fight in our communities and not recoil from it. For that is what we do here at Hopium - when the proud patriots of this community are called, we answer. And so now what we must do is keep driving the early vote, run up the score, blow out these Tuesday elections, and then work with everything we got to ensure there is a peaceful transfer of power in Washington and across the country in January.
Finally, I thanked everyone here. We’ve done remarkable things together these past three and a half years. Your fight, your generosity, your commitment, your love of country, your hard and determined work is the fuel, the spirit that keeps this place roaring every day. I am humbled by it all, for their is no more profound act of patriotism than the little acts we all take each to fight for our democracy and our freedoms. And while we have done so much here over these past three and half years our most important work lies in what we need do over the next six months and beyond, and as we work together to win these elections, take power away from this horrible and corrupt crew, and then begin the hard work of making things better and putting things right.
That’s what I am seeing this morning, and what we discussed last night. Watch the video when you can, share it with others, hit like so more will see it, and now let’s…….
