Paxton’s trips cost$3.3M in security. 🏛️AI tools cloneAdobe apps for free. 💻Fake substitute facessix felony charges. 🤯
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the Republican U.S. Senate nominee, has taken nearly 1,000 trips with a state-funded security detail since 2015. A Texas Tribune and ProPublica review tied only 138 of them to state business.
That leaves more than 800 trips, and roughly $2.8 million in security costs, with no documented purpose. Paxton’s office cites threats tied to his work against cartels but has not released records for those trips.
**The details:**Florida drew 53 trips. At least 17 came during his 2023 impeachment suspension, before the Texas Senate acquitted him.

Developers are using AI to decompile video games, breaking down the code and rebuilding it. The trend has produced mashup mods like Mario 64 inside Halo and Minecraft inside Elden Ring.
Developer Brandon Thomas used the same approach to build
free, open-source versions of Adobeprograms such as Photoshop, Premiere and Illustrator. Supporters see it as a check on Adobe, which the FTC accused in 2024 of hiding fees and making cancellation difficult.**The catch:**Some of the clones are still buggy. Rebuilding another company’s code may also run into copyright and patent law, so pushback from software makers is likely.
A Milwaukee woman faces five felony charges after authorities say she posed as a substitute teacher at Rufus King International High School.
Students said she used slurs, made sexual remarks and insulted classmates after the regular teacher left the room.
**The case:**Jones allegedly told police she acted out of boredom. She now faces six felonies carrying up to 21 years in prison. Her lawyers say a medication delivery problem disrupted her bipolar disorder treatment.
