The NFL announced Jay-Z as the headliner for the Super Bowl LXI halftime show. Roc Nation, his company, has co-produced the halftime show since 2019.
Commissioner Roger Goodell said that when the league partnered with Roc Nation, he asked for Jay-Z to perform once the timing felt right. Some fans
questioned the pick, noting the rapper’s last major solo project came nearly a decade ago and suggesting a fan vote instead.**The reaction:**Supporters, including former NFL player Jason Kelce, praised Jay-Z’s catalog of hits. Some conservative commentators criticized the choice as a DEI decision.

Discord’s Discoverable Servers will get public web pages on November 16. Starting in mid-December, some new messages from participating public channels may also appear in search engine results.
The company says it wants to surface hidden knowledge, similar to how Reddit threads appear in search.
**How to opt out:**For adult users, message sharing is on by default except in the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea. Private servers and DMs aren’t affected, but users must manually turn off the setting to keep public messages out of search.
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has faced backlash after saying his favorite meme showed his face superimposed onto an image of “some guy” he thought was “a Chinese dictator.” The image depicted Mao Zedong, the founding leader of the People’s Republic of China.
Beverage maker Dongpeng, dairy company Mengniu, and cheese brand Milkground ended their deals within hours, citing national sentiment. Chinese state media then pulled La Liga broadcasts.
**The apology:**Mbappé apologized, calling his remarks ill-judged. Real Madrid and La Liga also issued apologies. The backlash echoes China’s 2019 response to NBA executive Daryl Morey’s tweet about Hong Kong.
