Zara Tindall rarely talks about her parents, Princess Anne and Mark Phillips. It is certainly rare to hear anecdotes as unvarnished as the ones she shares in a new, hour-long interview with the Talk Horse podcast, hosted by the Olympic eventer Pippa Funnell and Tristan Phipps, in which Zara has given a strikingly candid account of what it was like to be raised and trained by her royal parents, especially her father, Captain Mark Phillips. He was, she says, “tough,” and then, as an aside adds: “I’m trying not to be quite as bad with my own kids. You’ll have to ask them how it’s going.”
