The moment is here! The data from the bodies rating survey is in! Today I will cover women, and I will cover men sometime next week. I was able to get almost 3,000 responses- I would have liked more, but this was enough to get a pretty solid idea of statistically significant patterns across a variety of women’s bodies—both natural-looking ones and extreme ones.
Also, let us not forget that even if you have gripes with my sample size or the images I used to generate the women not looking realistic enough, most of the cited literature on the topic has a sample size of like 72 people and uses images like these (yes, really):
This is also better than my last stab at this type of survey, which in the interest of creating consistency, made everyone look like a headless alien. Complain about the new images all you want, but at least we are getting somewhere.
Also, for full transparency, I used a body simulator first (plugging in precise measurements) which was then uploaded to an LLM and further refined in a Photoshop-type interface by hand. So I tried! I did not use real-life images because I wanted everything to be as consistent as possible, so I understood exactly which variables I was measuring.
Anyway, I wanted to measure many different variables—not just weight, but height and six different body shapes.
The body weights represented:
Now, the shapes themselves, all shown in the “slim” body type:
So, let’s see how the different body types performed! A few questions I had going into this:
Does weight matter more than shape, or vice versa? Would men prefer a straight-shaped slim woman or an hourglass-shaped average-weight woman?
Assuming the weight is the same, which body shape is the most popular?
If someone does not have an hourglass body type, to what degree will weight loss or gain affect her dating prospects?
What “types” of men feel strongly about particular unconventional female bodies?
And more…
Note that this article will primarily cover the preferences of straight and bisexual men. However, I will briefly touch on the differences for lesbian and bi women rating women along the way, which surprisingly didn’t differ all that much from straight men’s opinions.
Onwards!
