GPU prices have taken a sharp turn for the worse. In professional terms, the situation is now “terrible.”
It’s only been about six weeks since our last GPU price update, and in that short time graphics card prices have risen sharply. We had already warned this could happen. Unfortunately, those increases have now reached the retail market.
How badly have gamers been hit? We looked at retailers outside the United States to see how this is playing out worldwide. Are GPU prices soaring everywhere, or are some regions and models affected far more than others? We have a large amount of data, and the picture is not encouraging.
We have been tracking prices in 10 countries. Our previous update captured prices before this latest surge began, giving a useful (if painful) look at how GPUs were trending before the market turned. We also included February data. That matters because in the first half of 2026 some models actually fell slightly. July and August prices show the immediate impact of the recent hikes; comparing them with February tells us whether cards have simply returned to earlier levels or set new highs.
Before the numbers, a note on methodology, since some readers questioned it after earlier updates. These are not average prices for a given card. They are the lowest in-stock street prices available in each region. We use local price-comparison sites, identify the cheapest model, confirm it can actually be purchased at that price, and include it. That usually means entry-level partner cards rather than high-end models such as ASUS ROG Strix, Gigabyte Windforce, or PNY OC. If you want a premium card, you will almost certainly pay more than the figures shown here.
Prices were collected a few days before publication, so individual listings may have moved slightly. As of writing, these numbers represent the lowest price needed to buy a new card.
