How To Find and Maximize Your “Type”
A week ago, I wrote about the importance of “typemaxxing,” or optimizing to look your hottest for your particular type (and while the image above is of women, the advice was gender-neutral).

A week ago, I wrote about the importance of “typemaxxing,” or optimizing to look your hottest for your particular type (and while the image above is of women, the advice was gender-neutral). Obviously, not everyone cares about looking attractive, but this advice was aimed at people who want to look attractive, but are, like almost everyone, not naturally born into the Ideal Hotness mold. Example: even if a poll of 5,000 men indicates that a blonde cheerleader with an exaggerated hourglass figure is the ideal, attempting to look that way if you are a lanky and angular redhead will probably be less advantageous than playing to your strengths as a lanky redhead, and appealing to men who like lanky redheads.
Obviously, this does not include objective and workable flaws. If you have bad skin, are in terrible shape, or don’t brush your teeth, that is not a “type.” But even at our best, most of us just don’t look like any kind of on-average ideal of beauty. That’s fine. My argument is that we work with the things we can’t control (or the things that would be onerous, costly, painful and perhaps dangerous to attempt to control).
Naturally, many of you wanted to know what typemaxxing would look like if you weren’t sure of your type. In fact, knowing your type seems to be the hardest part of the whole thing. So here’s my guide for maximizing your type, starting with the first step: identifying your type.
